1-1 at HT. Nothing to exceptional to report. Donovan is still crap.

3-1. Impressive. Remember that we were also fielding out B team. But how the hell was Donovan the man of the match? He's totally overated!!!

I turned off after the final whistle [I wanted to stick my boot up Wynalda's ass -- a common affect he has on me], and didn't hear the MOM award. Donovan? I would have said Bornstein or maybe Conrad.

Donovan? Jeez; no wonder we're a joke over the water.

    Good result, though.

Yes, and yet named MoM on the USSoccer site... for making a pen.

Waldo made a good point when he asked Arena if Landon would ever get to the place where he's 'in every match'.

Arena's answer started with 'he certainly needs to get there' and, in a 2 minute speech, never said one way or the other.

    Match Report

I watched the second half and have to say that our guys just wore Denbmark out. We didnt play exceptionally but we had confidence and always kept them wondering if it was safe to pass anywhere near us.

The big news is that Justin Mapp came on and looked brilliant, esp on the winner where he took the ball up 60 yards, through several defenders and crossed back into the box just before the ball would have crossed the line. Borstein was waiting in front of the goal and slammed it in.

Then Kenny Cooper scored a good one to put it out of reach.

Alll in all a good effort and it's nice to see us outclass a Euro team... though maybe it was their first time in Southern California and their minds werent focussed... or maybe they had been scrimmaging that made up girls' team.

I wasnt aware that removing your shirt was 'rewarded' with a yellow card?

Donovan will never be the player everybody thought he would be. He can't play under pressure and really doesn't even dominate teams he should dominate like the Danish B team. Until a coach wakes up and sees that Donovan has been utter crap the past 2-3 years he will never be any good on the world level and is even starting to play like crap in the MLS.

I like the fact that we might have ourselves a LB in Bornstein and also liked Mapp. Mapp can be a game changer and is one of the only players in all of American football that isn't afraid to take an opponent to school. Really if he can do this consistently he could be a very good player on the international level. Bornstein is damn good at going forward and is improving defensively.

Well that shirt had the number 20 on it; I thought Cooper filled it quite well today.
Although I imagine Twellman will wear the 20 jersey.

It was nice to see a few new faces on the pitch and us get a win. Landon's MOM is a joke. He was lucky to get the goal on the penalty. The keeper guessed right, but somehow let it in.

Looking at who came in and really contributed, I see a bright future for the US MNT. And where the hell did Mapp come from? How come I've never heard of him until now???

Scoring a goal, of course. But he's a great player and I think that he should adapt to more of a role in midfield. He can create chances and score and on top of that defend.

The second half was more impressive. We wore em out and got the win.

Cooper, Mapp, Bornstien were good. Mastroni was Mastroni. Clarke's performance was mixed. Donovan sucks and Eddie Johnson has completely lost it.

I thought it was a typical USA friendly performance. We look good, have most of the possession, lack the finishing, one or two guys standout, and Donovan is named MOTM regardless of what happened in the game. So really it hard to draw any conclusions.

Arena was entertaining ripping away at USsoccer big time. I certainly don't always agree with him but the guys pretty good at throwing stones.

Erm I guess because you don't watch MLS much.

He's long been touted to have this incredible skill and potential. I frankly find him vastly over rated. He has talent yes, that could be seen in today’s game, but most of the time he drifts in and out of games, doesn’t take defenders on near enough, and lacks intensity. My opinion is that he's been at best an average player in MLS. But then again I thought the same about Convey and looked what happened there.

Mapp has been pretty good for the Fire but I have to agree he can drift in and out of games, but when he is focused he is one of the better American players out there and is an excellent playmaker.

I only watch the Red Bulls and the occasional non-RBNY match. I need to start watching more MLS.

That half field run was the best effort the entire game...

But all in all it's good to see the new guys get some experience, and to see two of them get their first international goals in their debut just adds to an optimistic future for team USA...
