    I love New Yorkers... really!

    Something happened to them between the early seventies and mid-eighties...a whole attitude turn-around! I was in NY a fair amount in early seventies, and a lot in the eighties.

    when I finally got to NYC [and not just the airport] a few years ago, I was extremely surprised to discover:

    a. that one could eat well in a charming restaurant for just about what I would pay in Minneapolis or Atlanta and significantly less that what I'd pay in Los Angeles, AND

    b. that New Yorkers are open, friendly, helpful, and charming if you give them a chance to be.

    We enjoyed visiting there and plan to return again as soon as possible.
