Wash Post: "What I've Learned" by Kofi Annan

See any reference in there, to the failure of 16 resolutions on Iraq?

To the abject corruption and failure of 'Oil for Food' due in part to himself and his son?

To failure to organize intervention in Rwanda?

For meekly standing down in Darfur?

For lack of leadership on even the simplest things against opposition of 'environmentalist special interests... like DDT and African Malaria?

He talks about nations 'accepting responsibility' yet says nothing about the peacekeepers under his own umbrella CONTINUOUSLY involved in sex sscandals, rape and child prostitution in the third world?

In short: Not a effing thing!

But no.... we dont need no freakin 'BOLTONS' rocking the boat.

The UN is like the Eurpoean Union, a place for politicians to congratulate themselves on reaching the vast expense cheques that are now available to them.

The only thing the UN does is provide a security council that allows France, the US and China to sit round a table keeps dialog open. How much use that actually is I don't know?

I can't disagree with what Annan said "military force is used, the world at large will consider it legitimate only when convinced that it is being used for the right purpose … in accordance with broadly accepted norms." Although I would expect my 14 year old son to say something similar in his school essays, it's not exactly a revelation or useful.

For his next speech I think he may say "The world would be a nicer place if we could all just get along." :)

I'm not the only one who thinks that way, either..
Claudia Rosett on what he'd have said if he spoke the truth:
But the self-serving delusionary scumbag didnt say that!
