McB just got mugged - Fulham needs a goal, theyve been working hard since losing Pearce.

NOT GOOD. I am not a happy camper right now. Things could get messy in a hurry for Fulham. Arsenal next, at Blackburn next weekend and then at Liverpool. That is a tough, tough stretch of matches. I am beginning to worry a bit.

Very proud of the lads today. I think Zat and Liam need a chance with an England squad soon. Boa played like a captain today -- as much heart as Brian showed. Boca featured well off the pine, and Brown was a monster out there.

John deserves a good 4 or 5 match run up front with McBride.

Reading need a heart transfer -- maybe Convey coming back? They had all afternoon to put us away and didn't look like doing it.

One more word -- the fans were a little outshouted at times in the first half, but they set up a mighty roar in the second half! Wind and rain aside, they showed some class.

    Next Saturday will come.

Between Fulham and the cricket I am thinking of becoming a Man U and Austrailia fan! Just as bad, England lost in the Rugby, I shall now cry. The hardest thing is the disappointment - at least when we were genuinly rubbish in the mid 90's I have no expectations and so loosing 1-0 at home after being reduce to 10 men would have felt like a victory. Tonight I just feel empty and sad. I Yet another weekend goes by where I cannot bring myself to watch the football hightlights. Since I cannot look - did Pearce deserve to go? What happended after, Did Boca get a run at centre back?

    :(

Boca came on after 3U went off. He slotted in with Zat very well and showed some coolness and class. With 3U out for a few weeks, I think you'll see him slotting in at LB for a while, but I think he's shown CC that he's ready to spell Pearcey when that happens.

The boys played well, Stu, but the result is what it is.

That one was tough for me to take. They played well, far better than they have a few other times this year when they were able to take points. Games like these suck the most for me, we deserved at least a point!

Pearce definitely deserved to be sent off. It was a blatant penalty in the box and he made no bones about it.

I am not so high on the team as the others in this thread. I thought Boa Morte was absolute rubbish. He did more getting back on defense, which is not bad, than he did in trying to attack the Reading defenders. His comeback to the team has not helped this squad. I find somewhat coincidental that the team has not played quite the same way, or nearly as well, since Boa has returned.

Fulham needs to get it together in a hurry or we will be worrying about the bottom three rather than the top ten. Matches with Arsenal, Blackburn and Liverpool will be no easy task in the next two weeks. My fingers are crossed. Unfortunately, effort alone will not get the team three points and at this point, we need three points very soon.

    Tom, two points.

    1. Yes it was a penalty, but the sending off is stupid. The automatic red card was created for the "last man brings you down" OUTSIDE the penalty area. It was a punishment created because there was no other punishment. Well, INSIDE the area the punishment is the penalty. Yes, the referee acted inside the rules, but he did have discretion and the law is stupid. And the reason this is, is that we were penalized twice for the same foul.

    2. I think you're way off base with Boa in this game. When we lost Pearcey, 3U went to centre half and Boa was reassigned to LB. With Liam attacking constantly on the left flank, Boa had to stay back on defense, and I think he did a hell of a job. He also did some nice linking with the midfield and had a useful cross or two. I agree that he's not been himself this year, but I thought he had a "captain's innings" today and his committment should be recognized.

I don't think CC needs to "get it together" by training to play with only 10 men. What happened today was that one of the few healthy midfielders we have on the squad had to go back and play defense, and I think he did a good job. I don't think you can fault the team for effort or guile today. We had a much better offense today then we did in the last few matches. The truth is, if you're playing 10 v. 11 for the last 75 minutes or so of any game against a team higher in the EPL then you, chances are you're going to lose. And, yes, if we're 10 v. 11 against Arsenal, Blackburn, or Liverpool, we'll probably lose those as well.

But my thing is that if the team continues to create and play hard like they did today, we're going to get enough points off of teams NOT named Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelscum to finish closer to mid-table than to the relegation zone.

I watched the highlights, curisoity got the better of me - fool!

Boa showed passions and we worked hard. I completely agree that peace was apropriatly punished within the laws of the game. Liam played very well again.

McB's shot from 25 yards was cracking, each time I see it I think it is going to sneak in. Again it seems like it took an incident to get the players up for it.

While the loss was gutting, I was very proud of the lads for playing with heart down to 10 men and a goal behind. We put ourselves in a position to equalize several times and it just didn't happen. Mac played superbly and nearly had 2 goals for us. I thought Boa played with hustle and heart but was a bit clumsy on defense at times; I know it's not his natural position.

Pearce's foul was certainly deserving of a penalty. I think he was in a tough situation though. If he didn't foul Doyle, it was almost a sure goal. That said, the odds of a goal from a penalty are higher so not tackling Doyle would have been the wiser move.

Also, did anyone else notice that every single one of Zat Night's long passes were way off target? He played great in defense but needs to work on his long service. Actually, Fulham in general seem to be giving the ball away too easily. Seems that several passes a game go straight to the other team.

As Tom has said, it will be tough road for us the next few weeks. I think we will get at least a draw against one of the clubs we play next; Liverpool's form has not been great of late, perhaps we can even beat them.

Lastly, I really miss Jimmy Bullard. Lord how we need him back.

Have been out of the loop all Thanksgiving Weekend. Dad in town, Thanksgiving, and 3 year old son's birthday.

I'm with Tom in not liking what is happening right now. Losing to Man Shitty the way we did was an ominous pre-cursour. Some things need to happen with the team for Fulham, for us, to manage to realize the potential that was prominent earlier. Cookie needs to get back to the present and focus on winnig with Fulham NOW! I don't blame him for his aspirations, but airing that type of stuff in the press can sometimes have negative effects on a team's psyche and cohesion.

The squad needs a little shake-up, and it looks like Boca will get a chance at LB. Adding Dempsey AND Gooch would provide an injection of energy and drive, and provide two very good players.

Hey, but it is not like this is unfamiliar territory for anyone who has even a little experience with Fulham. COYW!!!

We should all be disappointed with the result although I feel had it been 11 v 11, we would've won, or at the very least a point. Reading were shaky at the back and if John was on form, he might of put one in.

Reading jumped up on my teams to hate list...after running into some wanna be hooligans...haha, FROM READING! They brought good support and in the end, edged out a win with a penalty. It really wasn't our day. I can't wait to play them at their place, the score line will be different.

Its hard to judge the guys based on the 10 man formation but McBride was solid, again, but neither him nor John got many clear chances on goal. John did work a bit hard on the defensive end but he is paid to score.

Boa should have the armband taken away. It seems to be kryptonite.

Give the armband to Brown...he kept talking and directing the midfield..solid effort coming off of injury.

Jensen - can really place a ball, a nice creative midfielder but just doesn't have the speed or muscle.

Defense overall did a great job, agree with BC, Knight's long ball has been atrocious. Liam had a solid game, but his passing was suspect as well. Bad news, Queudrue will supposedly be out for a few weeks with a gash on his ankle.

No real standouts...solid effort but an unlucky penalty...

I've never seen Knight clear the ball to one of his own men. Ever. If he actually has, I beg his pardon.

Seriously, it has always seemed that 90% of his clearances have gone straight to the other team. Not just this past match, but in every match I've seen him play. When that's coupled with a bad day of tackling, heading, etc., he deserves the nickname " 'Mare". This season, though, all but the clearances have improved.

Did anybody else see the Boa Morte - Liam argument. What was that all about? Boa Morte's face was priceless...I thought his eyes were gonna pop out of his socket. Really hope it did not/does not spill over into the clubhouse.

Wow, was that an awful dive by Radz.

(Most of what I was going to say has already been mentioned, so I just thought I'd throw that out there. )

Same here. What was up with Boa shouting match? Also I was not please with Radzinski. If that is what you are going to do, which I completely disagree with, at least don't throw your arms up in the air like that. Who was he trying to convince with that? Just not right.

I think the major problem with the Boa/Liam thing was that the camera was on it. It was an flare-up over who was supposed to be covering whom. A goalie screams at a defender on his team about 20 times a game. Defenders yell at each other all the time, and captains yell at their teammates all the time.

Two guys being passionate about the game is all that was. It came and it went, but it was on TV.

About Radz ... yeah, crappy dive. He could use some lessons from Diouf or Drogba or one of 200 Argentines.

Yeah, that's the thing. A) Diving is for pansies, but B) if you're going to do it, at least don't be BAD at it.

I don't think it was a big thing at all, neither does Cookie according to his post match comments. He said Liam plays with a lot of passion and heart and the players know he vocally shows it as well.

I like to see that passion/heart...remember Volzy and Knight last year?
