    Greetings one and all!

Mitchell from Miami Florida here. Been a football fan/player all my life and was supposed to play Collegiately ( and hopefully beyond ) but a drunk driver ended that for me (only doing temporary damage...nothing long lasting, just long enough to keep me from playing for about 2 years). I have normally tuned into whatever match the ESPN or Telemundo's of the world would be showing, never really having a club to follow.

Then it happened, some years ago Miami got an MLS franchise, The Miami Fusion. Well, they went belly up and now Miami only has a USL team, Miami FC. MLS is too tough for me to follow, I have a more enjoyable time following Collegiate or High School, and the UDL team...well its tough when you bank on a 40+ year old ex-star.

So now I am older and can afford better cable service, which in turn allows me to watch alot more football. I decided I would pick a team and follow them. It was a pretty grueling choice for me, I like to over analyze sometimes and I promised I wouldn't just make a knee jerk decision. Of course the Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea options were there, but I dont like to be a cookie cutter or bandwagon jumper. I wanted something different, something with history and flair. Fulham was one of my final teams to choose from with Everton , Reading and Man City being the other finalists (can anyone see the US connection here?). None of them, though, had a good US support group, and I found it difficult to keep track of the every day goings on and such.

So here I am watching endless amounts of EPL trying to determine just what squad caught my fancy. I recently tuned into a match and there is Brian McBride and Carlos Bocanegro, faces and names I can relate to and recognize (being from the USMNT), I mean how can you not like a side with 2 US players and on top of all that a player with probably the coolest name I have seen in a looooong time, Papa Diop!. I watched the match, and was very entertained as they ended up defeating Everton. After doing some further research to see if this club was a match for me, I came to find that not only did it have the history and flair but also had a good US based outlet, during my searchings I came accross your site.....WOW, what an awesome job you guys have done here! On top of everythig else there is a FFC based Pub somewhat close to me that I could go watch the matches, perhaps even meet up with some other FFC fans close by and have a nice meet and greet!

So begins my FFC journey as I have now chosen Fulham to be "my" team, just as it is all of yours. I may not have been a fan for as long as some of you but I am proud to be a Cottager now and to be amongst the BLAWHIARMY!!!

That's what we're talking about, bruddah!!!

Welcome aboard. I went and saw the Miami Fusion back in 1997 or thereabouts, when I lived in Miami Lakes. They actually played on a soccer field too (gasp!). The event was kind of of fun, the talent was kind of o.k., but you could tell there was still quite a bit missing. In my opinion, still is.

You made the right choice. Look forward to more posts, MiaFFCmi.

Hello Mitchell, I am also a new Fulham fan. You won't be dissapointed you registered here. Did you know said 40+ year old ex-star is still playing somewhere? He's somewhere in Australia now, I think. I also have to ask this: what is the blawhiarmy?

That is phonetic way of saying Black and White Army. When you hear the crowd chant Black and White Army, it actually sounds like blawhiarmy.

Also, welcome aboard Mitchell! Welcome to FulhamUSA.com. You will find a number of Fulham fans on here and remember, no question is a dumb question.

    Cheers!
    Tom

Welcome glad you've chosen the true best club team in the world.

Lets all just hope Al Fayed opens the piggy bank for a new Fulham star striker before McBride reaches that +40 age bracket!
