Hello my name is Mike. I am a Florida native from Orlando but after getting married last year I have moved to Alabama. Since i live in Bama soccer is nowhere to be found around here. Only Auburn and Crimson Tide football. I'v been looking for an english team to cheer for and after studying the teams and reading the comments on this website, I felt like Fulham was the team for me. I have been to London once while I was serving in the Air Force in 2003 but did not stay long enough to see as much of the city as I would have liked. For those who have been to see Fulham in person, are they located in a good area? I plan on returning to England someday and would like to attend a game.
Greetings Mike. Good choice on supporting Fulham. I haven't watched Fulham in person, but AmericanMike has. He liked the area so much he moved there...
Fulham being in London makes their location convenient but Fulham as a neighborhood is probably the nicest neighborhood of any English Premier League team. The Cottage is located on the Thames, has a giant park (Bishops park) next to it and the houses that surround the stadium are worth millions...its perfect! Welcome to the site...COYWs
Welcome aboard Mike! Fulham is in a fantastic neighborhood unlike other clubs like Tottenham, West Ham and others. You will find the Fulham supporters friendly and passionate about the Cottagers. They may not win every match, but they will keep you on the edge of your seat at all times.
They may go for Millions Mike but there Not worth it, the houses were built for Victorians and house prices sky rocketed in the seventies and eighties making Fulham a High price place to live. Unfortunately, for those born and breed in Fulham have no choice but to move away to more affordable places, just like I did in 1980. But I will agree it's a great place to have a football club. it a shame the people who buy those house then moan and complain about the club. my argument is that the club was there first if you dont want matchday noise and traffice dont but those houses.
That sounds awfully familiar to the people who live near Wrigley Field here in Chicago. They are always bitching about something. The parking, the noise, the drunken fans. As you said, if they do not like the park and the people and surroundings of the area, DON'T MOVE THERE.
Just wanted to add my welcome as well. I'm a new fan this season also and it's been fantastic so far. Fulham USA is a great place. See you around.
