    Freddy Fender dies...

May be that only Don and I know who he is but he had one of those magical voices like Roy Orbison or Joanie Mitchell.
Wasted Days and Wasted Nights was one of his notables but his far and away best was "Before the next teardrop falls" - when you get a flash clip box up, select 'teardrop falls' from the pulldown box and you'll see why.

Here's a 'club-live' video of Teardrop Falls... note that it was probably great, live, but there's nothing like the studio version for effect.. seems much more personal and immediate.

Petty, he's a South Texas icon ... proof that multiculturalism works best in music and the arts. His style was a combination of several Mexican genres, country, blues, and rock. As is still the case with Willie Nelson and Flaco Jimenez, everybody wanted to work with him and record with him.

Like all recording artists and film stars, he's only completely lost to those who knew him personally. For the rest of us, he's around forever.

    RIP Balemar Huerta

I assume you mean Natural and UNFORCED 'multiculturalism', as opposed to legislated or preached from the pulpit of such as Jesse {'The Extortionist'} Jackson...

If you refer to the latter, we better take it to 'anything goes'

Petty, you just couldn't let it go, could you?

Sigh. This gentle moment in reflection of the passing of a great artist is gone. Back to sniping.

Sorry, I don't feel much like playing today.

Don, your skin is WAY too thin! If you cant laff at me, who can you laff at?

Speaking of 'Multicultural'.... as you would suspect knowing my "stream of conciousness" M.O.; I glommed on the idea of looking up Bob Seger videos {dang I love youtube!**} and I propose THIS is a great example of American Pop culture influence:
'Katzenjammer' .. just WRONG in SO many ways, and right alla same!

    Yes...'Risky Business'

Argghhh! I laugh and cry at the same time!

** Sadly, now that Google owns it, just watch copyrighted stuff get booted off as quick as it goes up.
Ask michelle malkin.. not that hers is 'copyrighted', just that she's 'not politically correct'

It's one of my 'EarWorms'... caught myself humming same at odd times all day.

    But what's WORSE... I think I'm now a YouTubeAddick!!!

and I thought I'd gotten away from this guy!

    ..heh!
