That is really good news. I am sure this will grow quickly. It is a great opporunity to create exposure for the young talent not only to the MLS, but also to other leagues.

and, at the same time, gives a huge jolt to these youth developmental teams and leagues. It's a no-lose situation.

Aside from their insane need to name everything after themselves, I think you have to look at RB with some admiration.

Did you mean to use "jolt" so figuratively???

Undoubtedly, any participating youngsters will be wired to participate in such a refreshingly energized event. Cheers, to Red Bull using its pop-ular appeal in such a un-can-ny fashion.

This tournament really goes to show how far soccer has come since I was a kid. I had a fairly successful playing career and in the end I simply lost the love for the game...that was until I found Fulham but thats another story.

When i was 12, I had no one to really look up to as far as professional hero's and the only major tournaments we could play in were regional ones. Hell, MLS wasn't even around and we had the lower league which included the Long Island Rough Riders!

Its great to see tournaments like this crop up, if it lasts, it will bridge a developmental gap that currently exists in youth programs of highschool aged kids.
