    Hey Folks! It's been a quiet weekend on the site, so I thought I'd start a new thread.

    Today is the third event in the HatterDon summertime fest schedule. Each year, we do the ritual burning of dead animals accompanied by the ritual dunking of overaged amateur actors and musicians in the backyard cement pond. We do this Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day. It's great to be surrounded by friends and kick back -- even if I have to start the smoker at 0630 to have the ribs ready on time.

    What are y'all doing on this holiday?

    Had friends from Atlanta down to visit us at the beach. Two families with two 2 1/2 year olds together and under one roof for three days. Enjoyed it, but glad we have our space back.

    Happy Labor Day All!

    Had the folks in town from England visiting their grandkids and helpng me finish our basement. They are such good houseguests, helping with the dishes and cleaning up around the house...

    Just swept out the last of the guests at 9 p.m. As I expected, the evening finished with about 90 minutes of guitar playing and singing. I am tired and sore all over and will be up to go to work at 0530 tomorrow, but it was a great day -- we even had almost 90 seconds of rain!

    Hope everyone had a good time, flew the flag, and hugged somebody who hugged them back!

    My wife took the "Labor" in Labor Day seriously and so we worked on landscaping our house. Thankfully she did let me rest eventually.

    Heh.. take it from one who's been there....You didnt rest.. you rested up!

    Because, guess who's gonna be delegated to 'maintaining' that landscape!

    Hopefully, renewing mulch is the MOST work to it... guarantee you will NEVER see eye-eye on pruning of the various.

    My yard {garden to Brits} is now a freakin JUNGLE, because I'm stubborn..
    So it goes, so it goes..

    {hmmm sounds familiar}
