Fox Football Fone In, old Fox Football Friday, with Nick and Steven from World Soccer Daily are still on their Fulham is going to get relagated kick. I wish I had watched it live and not recorded. I would have called in.

They feel strongly that our back line is terrible. I know we need to tighten the screws a bit, but they were just harsh.

I thought the show was well done last night. I watched it and despite the fact that they both have pegged Fulham to get relegated, I think this show is much, much better than Fox Football Friday. I thought that show was a bit of a joke to be honest with you.

As an outsider looking in at Fulham, I can see why these two and many others have Fulham picked to go down. Our back line does stink and we need some help back there in a hurry. Let's hope the back line can be repaired in the very near future so we are not worrying about relegation come April and May and so we can all call in shows like this and boast of our boys surviving the drop as so many did not expect.

Shoot, It's not just FFF...it's every d@mn show on FSC.
Any time they reference Fulham, it's "Relegation favorites, Fulham" or some other B.S.

What gets my panties knotted up is, they don't even anaylize or explain why they think this is a foregone conclusion.
After watching the recap shows since opening weekend, each having approx ~2-5 min dedicated to the ManUre/Fulham match...there is no anaylisis of Fulham.

    Markus,
there will not be much analysis of Fulham on those channels or any channels or web sites. It has always been like that and always will be like that. In listening to Steven Cohen on the radio, he has clearly said he does not think Fulham's defense is good at all and he also thinks the midfield and striking options are very limited and with the thin squad Fulham will struggle.

I am not supporting what Steven in saying, I am just letting it be known that at least on the radio show he has given his reasons for why he thinks Fulham will go down.

The pundits are looking too deeply at the Manchester United game though. As HatterDon said on Monday, let's see how things stand after this weekend and we have played Bolton and Sheffield United at home. If things go bad, we might have a problem. I am hoping that is not the case though.

I liked the show with its two hours format, suprising alot of MLS talk. With the Fulham bashing, after this weekends result how can you blame them for thinking Fulham are their pics to be relegated. Although you cant judge a whole season on the first game, Fulham has the rest of the season to prove everyone wrong again.

I think that one of the reasons we'll always be on many folks' short list for relegation is that we're not rich. Key injuries down the road or and Man U. or Arsenal or even Aston Villa can be overcome by using a fuller squad or going out for a big bucks guy. We don't have either of those options and so, a couple of key injuries could always have us struggling.

I don't take it personally, but I do get tired of hearing it.

    Re: RE: FFF

Agreed. I believe the first week has us with a decent spectrum of opponents, and may give a nice read of where we actually stand.

Err...Back on track- I have yet to see the new FFF show format, I'll have to catch it. Good to hear a nice amount of MLS sprinkled in though.

To be fair Bobby Mchmon did give his take on us. Said that we were "cut up". That kind of summed it up.

I didn't see the FFF last night but I always find that Nick and Steven are much more pro MLS when on TV versus when on their radio show. Personally I don't see why, if you have your views then be consistent with them. A month or so ago while I listened to the radio show Steven said flat out MLS is doing more harm than good for soccer in America! To me that’s an incredibly ludicrous statement and I doubt he'd ever say that on TV.

I enjoy Nick and Steve greatly and was pleased to have them fielding calls and talking quite a bit about soccer for 2 hours.

With respect to Fulham, I can see why some would favor them to take the drop. The EPL is incredibly tight and unless you have a lot of talent or are willing to spend for it, you're a target. I don't think nor agree that Fulham will be relegated, but it doesn't help matters that on the opening game of the season they got stomped on 5-1 and shown their defense to be a paper tiger.

I wouldn't worry about who thinks who's going down just yet anyways. There's still, what, 37 games left to play? Plus another transfer window. So what if Nick and Steve think Fulham will drop in August; all the more reason to savor their mistake in April when Fulham is about 10th or somesuch. :)

In any case, it's a call in show. If we want them to talk more about Fulham, perhaps we should send them an email or give them a ring?

I liked what I heard about MLS; but I think Steve really glossed over the conference/single table problem. If you are a league that has players making only $20,000/year, travel costs are probably a very large concern in terms of finances. Plus, the current conference system has built up certain rivalries like NY-DC, Chicago-NE, Chivas-LA, Houston-Dallas, etc. But it wouldn't hurt to try a modified version (keep the same schedule, just nix the conferences in the standings?) of it for a year. It took a long time before someone came up with the English Premier League anyhow.

Didn't see the show, but amazing how, with an improved back line (and team) than last year, we are now being picked to be much worse than last year. Much of this is probably a knee-jrek reaction, but if it motivates Mo and Cookie to go get more talent on defense, I'm all for the scare tactic.

I've mentioned this before, but the odds-on favorite to get relegated from the CCC this time last year was Watford. Early days.

Gotta tell you though, when I first started following fitba, I never thought there'd ever be a two hour call in program on soccer in the USA. This is all gravy for this old boy.
