Okay, well that's a bit harsh, but I am really glad to stumble on to this site...it's fantastic.

After visiting the cottage on a dream weekend last year, I was completely taken in by all things FFC. Very impressed with the stadium and very pleased with the reception for a Yank in the Hammersmith end.

I will post more of the story later, cuz it's good...just know that I can't wait for another fun season, and hope that FFC pick Gooch up now!

    More to come...

Welcome to FUSA JR!! How exactly did you come across this site? If you are a Fulham supporter, you definitely found the right place. I look forward to hearing about your dream weekend from last year when you found Fulham.

    Cheers!

Thanks...I was looking for transfer news on Oguchi Onyewu ( I coached him in college)m and found a link to this site in google. Two clicks later, and I knew I had to join...I and a buddy took our dads over last year for a weekend in london. Palace v Boro on Saturday (the same day of the NUFC fight) and FFC v Pompey on Sunday...It was perfect. truly perfect...

Small world, I was also at that match (FFC-Pompey) and remember getting back, putting on TV and watching the Newcastle clowns fighting.

Anywho, welcome to FulhamUSA and glad you made it over! The Cottage is a magical place aint it!?

So, you're from Bawmer and you coached at Clemson?

Spent almost 5 great years by the Bay and spent a lot of it in Section 36 at Memorial Stadium, including the Orioles Magic year of 1983. Fantastic city.

true statements...Orioles magic sucks right now...it's all about the Ravens. There was talk of DC United playing Real Madrid at Camden Yards, but it never panned out. I remember something funny from the Pompey game. As we were in line at the pub, I walked past a guy in a DC United jersey, of all things. It was REALLY bizarre, having tailgated for about 30 of their games, to see the Black and Red there. I got a few nice looks in my USA kit, but that's the fun part. I told one of the ushers on the way out that day that they clearly needed to sign more americans, but I don't think he saw the humor.

By the way, there's a lot of Gooch fans on this site. Check out the seeming endless "FFC Summer Signings" thread.

I really hope he latches on with the club because he is a super nice kid, a hard bastard, and pretty charasmatic. I am telling you that he can do more than destroy in the back...he scored 8 goals his freshman year at CU from the right back. 4-3-3 formation, and he just killed it getting around the right side to join the attack. if we were down late, he would go up and score as a forward...pretty amazing player in general. And he has a very soft touch on the ball for a big lad. if you get to meet him, ask how his horseshoes game is...

Welcome JR and good to hear that coming from someone who has some first hand knowledge and glad to see you found this great site.

I think Gooch would be a great signing for Fulham and Fulham a great step for him. If its between Fulham, Boro and WBA then its a no brainer...you gotta go Fulham Football Club.

Welcome...now gotta go get a couple of t-shirts.

Very cool to have a coach of Gooch's on this site. Being a UGA Football fan, I don't have much love for Clemson's Football team, but imagine I can make some room for their soccer team (I don't think UGA has soccer).

Onyewu is definitely one of my favorite players, and he seemed very nice when I stopped him to sign my Standard Liege shirt in Nashville. The more stories you have and are willing to share about Gooch, coaching, soccer/footy in general, the better. Any chance you can sway his agent to make sure Fulham is Gooch's final destination?

Tom, if Gooch does end up at Fulham, can we sponsor more than one Fulham player?
