    Remember the name: Natasha Kai.

Just scored a striker's goal against Canada, her second in 6 days after coming on as a sub. She took a through pass against two defenders, hammered a shot against the goalie, took the rebound, controlled it and buried it.

She has balance, speed, two good feet, a ton of desire, and a killer instinct. The 91ers may be gone, but there's still a lot of good talent in the WNT. On to China in 2007. The US WILL win their 3rd World Cup!

I was impressed with her goal as well, but I slept through the rest.

Is it me or has the Women's team regressed? I can't put my finger on it, but I swear they don't play as well as I remember them playing in the '90s.

The 90s was a magical time. There were players on that team that shouldn't be compared with those that followed. It's like comparing some team today with the '27 Yankees. Having said that, when Shannon MacMillan hung it up, there wasn't really anyone other than Aly Wagner who had her combination of creativity and aggression.
The new coach is bringing in a lot of new women, and the side looks a little disjointed. But, although there never will be another Mia Hamm, Cat [used to be Reddick], Abby Wambaugh, the new goalie Solo, and a few others are as good as anyone else in the world. When Shannon Boxx gets back to fitness, I think it'll be hard to sleep during their matches.
By the way, until I got my FFC #20 shirt, the only name/number I ever wanted to wear on my back was Hamm, 9. Best American soccer player ever, IMHO.

I saw Kai up close a couple weeks back at the Sweden game. She couldn't look more Hawaiian with all kinds of "Maori type" tattoos. She looks like a good player. I also like Frimpong, she was a really solid center back in the Sweden game.

Like basketball I think soccer translates well to the ladies game. Hockey on the other hand.........

As a keeper myself I really enjoy Solo in the net's....i like the story espn did on her about learning from nothing and getting chewed out by mia hamm b/c she couldnt drop kick....she is a full force w/ size, strength, good feet, distribution...and i think she is kinda cute...i guess it is a "GK crush" i have hahah.....my girlfriend will not be happy!!! haha :3d funny:

but i do hope for good things from the womens squad...didnt know till after i watched the game (i recorded it and just finished) that only 16 teams make it Womens WC......what a bunch of "fun" that would be if it were the same for the men!

Come on you fulham and keep brian mcbride.....
