Crew / Gals, Houston / NE, Chicago / DC played to 1-1 ties.

Dallas and NY got 1-0 wins against RSL and KC.

So DCU and Dallas solidify their leads, with DC far and away the cream of MLS... a full 20 points above rest in the east...though RBNY is soon to challenge for 2nd, sneaking up on the rest, as it were.

As a Crew fan in the process of designing the paper head-bag, the game against LA was encouraging ... finally Crew is playing as a team for most of the game and opponents are having to adjust to us.
Assuming that LA is itself improving, that is good news and is going to make for an interesting 2nd half of season.

For those of you who might have watched the Crew game Saturday or will watch Crew v Everton on ESPN2 on wednesday, the mess in the middle of the pitch to the center line was caused by a Crane platform installed to build a concert stage 10 days ago.
It was guaranteed to protect the turf, but evidently never tested under full sun and 90 deg conditions.. suppose they never counted on parboiling effect or the fine print will say, install and use in nightime only.

Slogged my way -- on the couch in San Antonio, of course -- through 93 minutes of poor linking play and worse finishing in the FC Dallas-RSL match, only to be rewarded by an excellent finish [by a Terrapin!!!] deep into injury time. Made everything that came before worthwhile.

Will be checking out the Crew v. Everton thang on ESPN2 come Wednesday.

Yes, the FCD-RSL was disgusting in so many ways - astroturf being just one - but the final moments were exciting, highlighted by the oft-injured Abe Thompson finding the net.
Did not know he was a Terrapin.

DCU is good, but I think Houston and NE are just as good and coming on strong.
Houston esp. is very good and get no hype.

I will be at the Club America-Everton game in Frisco next week.

The hottest teams at the end of the season usually go on to win MLS Cup. LA last year and DC the year before.
