Fulham Scraps Womens Team

Fulham has scrapped their womens team today. According to the BBC the team was not financially doing much for the club and Al-Fayed decided to end the team. Here is a link to the article:

I'm not touching this one.

 

Having met Spacey (the coach) and some of the team, I really do feel for them. Fulham was the first professional womans team in England and won the pulled of a Treble in one of their first few seasons.

I feel for them, having to be told that your dream has to come to an end after living it for a few years must be extemely tough. It does come down to money unfortunately and I don't blame Al Fayed for pulling the plug, he has enough financial worries with Fulham.

All the best to them though and I hope they can figure another way of reviving the teams finances.
