"I think I'm as disappointed today as I have been in my short managerial career. It was a poor, unacceptable performance." - Chris Coleman, after the 3-1 Everton loss today.

Aw, he's "disappointed". It was "unacceptable". No ****.

What a pathetic summary of today's joke of a game! I am so sick and tired of reading Coleman's mealy-mouth wimpy post-game comments when they lay an egg like they did today. "I'm not singling anyone out because all our players have been poor." Why not? Will their wittle feelings be hurt? Aw, that's so sad. He was right about one thing--unless Coleman does something about it, his managerial career will be short.

However, by Coleman's standards, it was "acceptable". No matter how bad the players play, they will be back in there next match. Zat Knight? Early penalty? Put the team behind on the road? Don't worry, your job is safe. It must be because as pathetically as you've played this season, your job has been safe so far. Luis Boa Morte, our "captain". Great season you're having. Way to lead the team. With Chris there, you'll be "captain-for-life". I'm not sure who else stunk the most because I couldn't continue watching and keep my lunch down, but I'm sure the list of losers is large. But, no matter, they'll be told they played "unacceptably" but they'll be back in there next match, just like nothing happened.

That is the truth--nothing DID happen today.

    Dave,
I was gutted as well today and this loyalty stuff that Cookie is playing with the starting line up must be stopped. Remember when he sat Steeeed for 2 matches last season because his performance was poor?? He came back with a new fire and I feel he needs to do this for Wednesday.

Although, I disagree that he won't change things. My instincts tell me that he's fed up and has no other choice but to shake things up.

I'm looking towards Wednesday and maybe I won't be putting my best team out ability wise, but as long as I've got eleven men on the pitch that are prepared to have a go, come what may - but I will not accept what happened today."

I hope he keeps his word here...sit Boa.

These are the remarks that we shall see are held true. The heavy fist needs to be brought down.

I'm thinking the old problem resurfaces... CC feels -still- like he's one of the boys.. just a little removed.

The first thing a commander needs is respect for his position. The second is respect for his word.

Having gone through the same at Columbus, even a guy who's as conservative as me sees the need for change. I hung in there, for Greg Andrulis, long after most other fans had howled for ANYONE to replace him.

It's for a different reason, for sure, but having been a loyal field player can account for only so much. In the end, it's exactly the same.
CC has gotten to the point where any of his statements on the team's performance seem hollow and scripted.

It was just a few weeks ago that fans were ecstatic that Fulham had finally got some depth, if only with journeymen players, playing inspired footy. Now all of them are suddenly 'not Prem quality'. And we even get the myopic, "it's not CC it's the players..."

Well "The Buck stops at the manager's desk".

The FIRST thing CC needs to do is lift that albatross arm-band from Boa Morte's neck. There are guys who can carry it with little effort and others who see it as a weight. If nothing else, he should go with a 'rotating" or performance-based captaincy... most of the guys on the pitch have probably been captians of their teams one time or another. Besides, what does the arm-band REALLY mean? Just points out who should be speaking to the ref.
