Yeah... I'm thinking is CC crazy?!!!

Hell, any MLS backup keeper is a better bet than half the eastern bloc ones..
Then I remembered 'Work Permit' issues.

in my limited but growing knowledge of the EPL I was actually hoping Routledge would somehow wind up with Fulham as he was one player that kept catching my eye in highlights I've watched. He has some potential and seems very quick. I especially like the goal at the 1:30 mark in this video.

    Overall a decent catch.

    Where's the center-back?

Word has it the Massimo Maccarone deal will be concluded by the end of the day. No word though on a center-half. I hope Maccarone bangs in a lot of goals because with the group we have in back defending we are going to need to win shootouts rather than defensive games.

As somoene else said elsewhere, Maccarone couldn't have gone to crap in just two years.............could he?

He looked legendary in the UEFA Cup a year and a half ago. Maybe he just needs a change of address.

Meanwhile, I'm with Tom, where the bleedin' 'ell is our center back!!!???

My thing is that Maccarone is a 30 minute player. I don't know how long it's been since he's played 90 a week. But if we get him, I'll cheer like hell for him.

My feeling is that we're likely going to have to wait until January to get our new centre-back. It's time to get Boca in the lineup!

Fair enough. Start McBadass, HH, CJ, and put Maccarone and/or Runstrom in near the end of matches. Seems to be when Maccarone does his damage to the other team anyway.

Striker is such a carousel, 30 minutes is all you really need.

Boca will get in there, but I have to think one more addition before the window closes at either CB will benefit us.

You are probably right and my gut feeling is that by this time we will be mired in the midst of a relegation battle. As I have said earlier, if we have money to spend in January, why not just spend it now and use a new defender for a whole season rather than half a season.

This club is playing with fire. I know we are not big money spenders and I am okay with that. But looking at other clubs snapping up players right and left is it too much to ask Al-Fayed to splash 2-3 million pounds on a new center-half? I do not think so.

I hate the fact that the brass and suits at Fulham are okay with mediocrity. Don't the supporters deserve a bit more than a relegation struggle each season? I believe they do.

Looks as though all those rumours turned out to be absolute rubbish. This club needs a new owner. I'm damn pissed that teams that are on the same level as us are spending huge amounts of money while we continue to sign shite players with little to no money. We needed a damn CB, but instead we will be stuck with the rubbish we have until January and then Coleman actually goes out and signs a fecking 6th keeper!!! We need to start spending big if we are to ever progress as a Premiership football club.

and even if we don't improve the defense in those 2.5 hours, it is well to remember that except for about 20 minutes against a relentless attack from a far superior team, the defense has done a good job.

I think Steed out and Routledge in makes us a better team.

I think a lot of the additions of other clubs may well work against the receiving club -- in terms of packing the first team with potentially disgruntled non-starters as well as bringing in overseas players who will need as much as a month to get literally up-to-speed before they contribute in a meaningful way.

Hey, I'm not a Pollyanna. We got better; that's all I'm saying.

I'm excited to see Rosenior and Routledge on the Right. Should be fast and exciting. And look, LB is a distant thought. And how can we forget Jimmy (we can't).

Does a faster right wing mean more headers to the back of the net from McBadass?

    Please?

Make sure you ship that coffee via Fed Ex Don. Those deliveries across the pond can take a little while.

20 minutes to sign Gooch. Does anybody have his number, I'll call him up and ask him to get with the program.

I'm not as optimistic as you lot are. We didn't adress the need for a CB and we didn't bring in a new forward. Also our squad really isn't that big as well. Coleman has done well with what little he has and I will not blame him, but Mo is a different story. He has the money to turn us into a European contender each season, but chooses to keep a tight budget. I undertsand we can't buy Carlos Tevez, but why can't we splash around 6M on a star forward or CB every now and then? Why is it that we had a sell to buy policy when Mo knew damn well that our squad wasn't good enough for his goal of top 10? Didn't that 5-1 thrashing wake anyone up in the boardroom? Has our lack of finishing not done a damn thing to make them think that "Geez maybe we should bring in a finisher"? Don't they want us to actually be able to compete in the EPL? This looks as though we will again be too strong to go down, but not good enough for Europe or top 10. Maybe we could sneak into the top 10 by January and Mo will let Coleman bring in the necessary players to psuh on, but even then I very much doubt Mo will spend instead he will probably sell the star player that got us in the top 10.
