Zesh Rehman as just been sold to QPR. Yet another academy graduate who has come through the ranks but just fell short of a constant Fulham starting XI spot.

Atleast more money is being put towards the Academy now. Well done FFC.

    Good Luck to Leggy

Politics surrounds this situation and I am going to bite my lip and keep quiet. I feel sorry for Leggy with regard to the way he has been treated by Cookie. I truly wish Sylvain the best of luck, he deserves to be playing regular footy and not sitting on the bench.

Sounds like Leggy is getting a raw deal. Not to say I think he is worthy of being a regular in Fulham's squad, but he could provide some leadership to the team and appear in some matches this season. Leggy is definitely a class act!

I'm very encouraged that we are getting in the race for a decent money player in Mensah. On the other hand if were going to spend that kind of cash we better be damn sure. I'm hesitant to buy a guy based on his world cup performance. Therefore I hope Coleman & company have been looking at a lot of Rennes game tape studying this guy. The world cup can do magical things turning decent players into great players (Tony Sanneh) or the opposite.

I don’t recall Mensah from any of the Ghana games. What type of defender is he? Big, fast?

He is big, fast and physical. He seems to have all the tools to be a great defender. Unfortunately, one of the main ingredients in being a consistently strong central defender is knowledge and mindset. If there is any position on the pitch where you have to be mentally strong and able to concentrate for the entire match is center-half. I do not have enough experience watching him for either Ghana or Rennes to tell you if he has the mental aspect down. For 4.25 million pounds I hope he does.

So it now seems we aqre getting rid of players who clearly can't give us anything in our chase for Top 10. I like Legwinski, but he clearly is starting to look more like rubbish every season. If he went to Troyes he could help them and would get more playing time. Leacock is rubbish same with Rehman maybe they will find their level though in the Championship. Now we just need to let Knight,N.Jensen,Crossley,Pearce, and Pembridge go and we can finally let players like James and Timlin get first team experience. This is something I have always hated about Coleman is he doesn't use the young players enough. He seems to think young is in the early-mid 20's when in fact young nowadays is late teens. We need to start bringing these kids up to the first team faster like United and Arsenal do and if they are not good enough then go out and sign top quality youth.

    From Thursday's BBC gossip column:

QPR want to sign Fulham striker Tomasz Radzinski on a season-long loan deal. (Daily Express)

Any thoughts? I suppose with McBride, HH, John, and Runstrom we would be ok, but if the injury bug hits we may need him.

I think it would be a good move, I don't think he would see much playing time if he stayed. Fulham doesn't need another "disgruntled" player not seeing first team action.

He hasn't done it for Fulham and should really be moved to a team where he would get playing time and if he improves on loan then we get him back a better player. A win-win.

Why do I not get as good a feeling from this possible addition? Is it because Ghana beat the U.S.? Maybe, but I think probably not.

I don't remember a standout on Ghana's defense, but I do rememeber a standout on the U.S.'s team. And there are many more standout's elsewhere. Unless it was Essien or Stephen Appiah, I reserve my judgment until they prove themselves. I think Ghana's players have to be some of the biggest beneficiaries of this World Cup, warranted or not is the question.

Ghana was touted as an all star team of young players - that couldn't necessarily play as a team together - months before the World Cup started. I think the Cup just gave them world exposure for people to see what all the hype is about.

    RE: And one for ChiTom

This one baffles me Don. Manchester United loans out Tim Howard and now brings Kuszczak in on loan for a season. What gives? Howard has shown he has the ability to play well in the Premiership. I think Sir Alex is losing it a little.

I am not being an American homer either about Howard. I think he can play and play well in this league. We will see this season with Everton.

    RE: Leacock leaves...

Not sure whether this means the deal for Mensah is dead for Fulham or not....from SkySports over here in the UK.....

Reading have had two club record bids for World Cup stars Ghana's John Mensah and Ivory Coast's Emerse Fae rejected.

The Royals were willing to pay £3.5m for Rennes' Mensah and a similar sum for Fae of Nantes.

That amount would have broken the current transfer record of £1.5m that was paid to Wolves for Seol Ki-Hyeon.

"We made an offer and they turned it down. Both clubs said it doesn't matter what we offer, the players are not for sale," said Reading boss Steve Coppell.

These UK fitba sites are worse than ESPN nearing baseball trading deadline. They keep setting world records at jumping to conclusions. Would like to have cheered for the lad, but, unless I remember incorrectly or the Rams have changed their strip, Dean will still be swapping black and white for black and white.

Don't think we will get Mensah and either way even if we did have the 4M+ I don't think he's proven enough to be worth that kind of money. If we are gonna pay silly money then get a player who has either Premiership experience or European experience. Huth fits that bill,Wes Brown does,Gooch does,Mathijsen does shit there must be at least 10+ CB's who would cost 5M or under that has that kind of experience.

Also Coleman is starting to go way over the edge with Malbranque. He's now even saying that Cancelling his contract is not out of the woods just yet. Surely these 2 have gotten into a MAJOR fight or something of that nature. I mean to even suggest losing the kind of money we would be losing by cancelling Steed's contract is absurd. We buy our replacement let Steed rot in the reserves until the next transfer window and at least get something for him. Probably would'nt be anymore than hafl of our current asking price, but it's better than nothing. Also we don't need that 5M+ for Steed as there is plenty of RW's out there that would'nt cost much like Milner and Routledge.
