    Re: Relegated Players

He is not a bad, young player. He is only 21 and after coming over from Luton before this past season, he ended the season with West Brom as their skipper. Quite feat for a youngster. Shows he has the leadership skills needed to guide a defense.

I would guess West Brom would ask for somewhere in the area of 2.5-4.5 million pounds for him. It might be worth it though. Definitely one to look into. Good call Rumstove!

Steeds replacement should be Johan Micoud of Werder Bremen who's leaving on a free transfer. He's got the lot honestly

    About 7 million pounds. quote]

Well it looks like Palace think even higher of him. They just turned down an 8 million pound bid for him.

Now that Dowie has left they really should sell him. Its not right to keep a player that good down in the CCC.

According to Clubcall.com, Fulham is in the driver's seat to sign Leyton Orient center-half Gabriel Zakuani. The 20-year-old center defender was Orient's player of the season. Zakuani was born in Congo.

It is believed Fulham will shell out just over a million pounds for Zakuani.

I don't have a reliable source just yet (will look for one in a few hours) but it seems we are also after Robert Huth from Chelsea. They are letting him leave and he likes SW London...he's a giant and could prove useful.

Wow! That would be great! It didn't seem like Huth was getting adequate playing time this year. I recall earlier in the year Morinhio was adamant that Huth not leave to play in the USA-Germany friendly as Chelsea had a mid-week game and Jose "needed Huth". He then proceeded to keep Huth on the bench the whole game. LAME

I find it interesting that a small-budget team like Fulham seems to be holding out on any kind of transfer activity until after the World Cup. Chris Coleman has said in the press that he is going to use the World Cup to scout out some new talent and then try to sign a few after the tournament ends.

While the idea sounds great, Coleman must know that he is not the only one doing some scouting in Germany this summer. Additionally, it is quite common for the asking fees of World Cup players to go up after a good showing during the World Cup. Remember El-Hadji Diouf four years ago??

The point I am making is that to me this shows a lack of talent scouts at the club and while ultimately I think we will get a few players this summer, we might be able to pay a little less for them now rather than waiting until after the World Cup.

Fulham has to beat teams to players. They are not going to outbid most clubs, but if the club is crafty in going after players as they were with Bullard last month, we could get some good signings this summer.

I just do not want to hear the excuses from the club later this summer about being outbid for a left-back from Tunisia or something after the player has a stellar World Cup.

Fulham needs to be Proactive in the transfer market, not Reactive. Waiting for things until after the World Cup seems a bit Reactive to me.

I hope things do work out though this summer as we need some new defenders and such.

Fulham and Manchester City are after Lyon forward Sidney Govou as reported by Sky Sports: http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid ... lham+talks

I have seen this guy play and he would be a welcomed addition to our squad...he is quick and has scored some of the most amazing goals for Lyon this season:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9PUG5IjQuk&search=govou

I know we don't NEED another forward but this investment could make for a great return.

So it sounds like his contract is up at Lyon. Is that correct?

I love his name. I can hear Gentlemen Jim calling it now!

    From Sunday's BBC gossip column:

Liverpool are preparing a cut-price ?3.8m bid for Fulham's Steed Malbranque (NoW).

And I'm preparing a bid of $500 for a Rembrandt.

Even better, Liverpool, how about a straight trade for Gerrard?

Liverpool, when you get serious, give us a call. Until then, stick your Wal-Mart price up your ***.

I dont.thihk is it is good for Coleman that that twice since the begining of 2006 that Fayed has come out and said he is safebecause when owners do that it generally means that the manager is on his way out. I alos think that this whole situatuion with waiting to sign players till after the World Cup sdays a little something as well.

Well I could see a swap for Cisse or Kewell as an option. I'd be up for that.

I would rather get 3.8 than nothing at all. I am not of the belief that letting Steed stick around next season and letting him walk for free is the best option. Because he has made it known he will leave after next season, his price has dropped some.

Thus, the club must decide whether to sell him on the cheap for around 3-4 million pounds, or let him hang around and leave for free next season. I say we take the cash.

I heard we will only get 1.5 mill of the fee because steed gets 20% his agent 10% and someone else 14% steed gets 20% because we transfer listed him and not the other way around
