Fulham held a contest which the younger fans could write in with suggestions, draw pictures, etc and some kid came up with the badger.

    COME ON YOU BADGER!

Or is a racoon? Either way, I don't care--I love it.

For a minute, I thought--why not a panda bear instead? Then I realized that a panda bear is a little too cuddly to be a mascot.

Does he/she have a name? If not, does anybody have any suggestions? (It's too late on a Monday afternoon for me to be that creative!)

The club is having another contest to name the mascot and will announce it on the website and through the Arsenal matchday program.

So put your thinking caps on.

Personally, I'd rather have had Craven the Cat as the mascot. :big grin:

Being from Wisconsin, when I hear the word Badger I think of Bucky, UW-Madison's mascot. Sounds like a good name to me.

    NAME THE MASCOT!

A very bad joke from a very bad man.

With that said, the competition has started on Fulhamfc.com to name our Fulham Badger...

    Enter your ideas here: http://www.fulhamfc.com/promotions.asp?id=16

Why not be the complete 'feeder club'?!

    - - -- - - --

So that's why I flashed on 'Bucky'!

However, I think 'Badger' is sufficient in itself!

Pettyfog, I just busted a gut laughing. I'm not sure if the "feeder club" joke was intentional, but it certainly looks like the Crew Cat is about to eat that kid. Thank you for that ab workout. :)

I just wanted to repost Zacks post about the badger websites...I have to admit I watch them atleast twice a day....

**Please Note** -- When watching the 'footy' one, take a look at what it says next to Wales, brilliant!

Naw... wasnt on that point, but it's a valid one.

Whoever designed that Crew Cat 'head' did it just right... the little ones aint afraid of him, but the adults will see it exactly that way: he just MIGHT be about to bite off a hunk.
To put a point on that, they sent that head out for cleaning once, during the season and the 'back-up' was used... probably the first effort/model.. and everyone hated it and thought it looked stupid.

The Badger artisans need to do a little more work, and make him look as if he might turn evil at any moment... just like the real ones.

It's a glint in the eye ... or an upturn on the expression. Little tweaks matter a lot.

Well, the final names are in the hat for the poll over on the official club website.

    I voted for Boris. :)
