wow I posted on this subject but the site logged me out again even though it still listed me as logged on. I'm wont be posting more than a few words any more. I only wrote about four sentences on Whitney. Spent a few minutes looking for video but only watched two. :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

Sad.. one of the most beautiful people ever in Pop Culture. And, IMO, the best the Anthem has ever been sung on TV.

When Looks Talent Money and Fame aren't enough..
To her so called 'friends': Is she black enough now?

I love you Whitney.. Always did.

    One of tv's greatest moments

I checked.. this video, with another one like it, got over 2 million hits since yesterday morning.

Thanks for posting this Fog (always great when you drop by :handgestures-thumbupleft: ). As a society we tend to throw around compliments and superlatives, but her voice was truly transcendent. As a sports-aholic I've seen the anthem countless times live and on tv and without a doubt this is the greatest rendition of all time, it brings chills every time.

EDIT: Forgot to add that this version was so powerful and the public demand for hearing it again was so great that it became a Top 10 single.

I've also never seen anyone sing the national anthem so effortlessly. She truly was a natural talent and performer. She took the shallow, manufactured songs that were written in the 80's a gave them some meaning. Not only did she do the greatest rendition of our national anthem ever, but I think she had the greatest ever musical performance on SNL. To this day I havent forgotten her performance of "I'm your baby tonight". Again, a silly pop manufactured song that she totally and completely rocked; she gave that performance everything.

When I think about her today I'm reminded of a line from that song about Vincent Van Gogh (Starry starry night) - "This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you". I think some people are truly that way; dont know if because the care too much or are too sensitive or what.

Her passing is very sad and such a shame. I hope she had some peace and happiness in her life
