Volz -- Goma -- Boca -- Bridge (who's nickname is now 'Putney')

    Liam -- Steeeed -- Elliot -- Boa

    McBride -- HH

Went to my first reserve game on Tuesday and must say that it was very cool going to Motspur park but it also had a great atmosphere about it. Zesh looked pretty good and Volzy got a run for 90 mins.

This new kid Chris James looks exactly like HH and was most definitely the stand out of them all.

    COYW's, another...'must win'.

With this being a home match and all, I like our chances. Things even out with the African Nations Cup as we are missing Papa, they are missing Mido. I think this will be a good match with only one goal scored. Fortunately, I think we will get that goal.

I would perhaps like to see Collins John back in the lineup if he is available for selection. Goma is a must in the back if he is able to play. No more Zat.

And, after a rough start against Orient, Simon Elliott has looked good in the last two matches in midfield. He is no Papa, but he has been serviceable.

All in all, chalk one up for the good guys with a 1-0 win for us.

I'd love a 1-0 decision, and we play well at home, but there is jsut something about this team that can't do anything the easy way.

I say they fall behind 1-0 in about the 20th minute, get an equliser by BMcB just before the half, take the lead on a Collins John artistic shot in the 70th minute, and survive a bad play by Knight late in the game that allows Spurs to threaten but not put one in (despite a couple of late corners) to win 2-1.

I'll just be happy with a win even if it's in injury time.

    Is Brown available tonite?

I would love to see him play... I like the chances here... i see a draw or a 1-0 game either way here to be realistic.

I'd fancy a win and will snog all night with it.

I know, my english is terrible.

I would guess he is not available. With the transfer just taking place today and with it being against his former team, I really doubt he will be thrown into the fire right away. I would the Manchester United match this weekend would be an ideal debut for him.

I was getting pissed off listening to David Pleat on Fox, then I came up the idea of watching it on Fox while listening to Gentleman Jim on the net. What a champion idea!!

Great, as soon as I wrote this the commentary stopped. Should I tear up my lottery tickets too?

From Jim's commentary, it sounded as though the game was exciting, though a little uneven..

Great goal for Boca, solid effort again from Elliot... hard to believe an MLS old duffer comes in and plays every minute of every game, so far.

Right place at right time, eh, wot!

I saw the end half on TV in a bar. Comments:

    * They played well for about the first 15 minutes. Fox put up a graphic that said that Spurs had controlled the ball about 2/3 of the time so far in the 2nd half. That might have been so, if you included the putzing around in the middle of the field. However, we had by car the msot scoring chances.

    * From about the 60th minute until the Tottenham red card, Spurs put on a clinic and we could not complete two passes in a row (heck, even jsut one pass in a row). We were very, very lucky they did not score. Even after Spurs went ot 10 men, it was even for awhile even though we had the mad advantage.

    * Late in the game, they picked it up. In that way, it reminded me of last year's team. The goal was great--perfect set by Elliott, perfect header by Boca.

Great win for Fulham! I just finished watching the match and while it seemed like a match that should have been a draw, Fulham snuck one out late and I could not be happier.

    A few of my observations:

    - I was really impressed with the effort of Fulham's players up front in chasing the ball. Players like McBride, Helguson, Radzinski and others always chasing the ball, there is constant pressure on the opposing defenses.

    - It is rare when Fulham wins a match when Boa Morte and Malbranque are not effective and it happened today. Both players did little in this match and Fulham still pulled out a win.

    - the corners and free kicks of Simon Elliott are great! His skills in that department are a big step up from what we had before he got here.

    - Bocanegra's goal was great and there were two other chances on the same kind of set play where he almost scored.

    - the only negative of this match was Liam Rosenior's play. He was worked all night on the right side by Tottenham's Aaron Lennon. If healthy, I think it is time for Volzy to get back in the squad.

Now it is on to Old Trafford for Fulham to get their first road win of the season!!

I have to say, I have been proven wrong by HH. I did not think he had what it takes for the Premiership, but the boy shows incredible effort and his finish against West Ham was first rate. I was also unsure about the Elliot signing, but in the 2 games I have watched him he's done a very solid job.

On occasion I have called for Cookie's head, but I will say that so far his dealings in the transfer market have been pretty solid. No managers gets it right 100% of the time, but on a low budget you do not have the luxury of getting it wrong very often.

I have a rebewed confidence for the rest of the season ( I even thought we played well against West Ham) and hope we finish 13th or higher!

Heh... just think of the competition for midfield spots, starting now!

CJ, better get on yer pony or lose out! Meaning that a good manager builds from the back up ( at least i hope so, cause that's what Sigi is doing with the Crew).
Now that the Defense is solid against ordinary sides, and the Mid is looking pretty good, esp if Brown pans out; next up: that elusive pacey striker!

Man did that feel good last night to take 3 pts. off that miserable pudding of a man, Martin Jol. Is it just me, or does Martin Jol remind you of 'Pizza the Hut' from Space Balls?? Oh well...

I'm still in England on an extended vacation (will be back Monday now) and was at the Cottage last night to witness one of my biggest dreams, to see a live Fulham match at the Cottage where-by Fulham in with an injury time winner!!!

I sat in Riverside, Block X, 4 rows behind the Spurs bench, and I admit to of given some of the Spurs subs some lip. My bad...

Some things I liked about our performance:

Wayne Bridge and Boa on the left: These two really worked well together and Bridge loved going up the left wing. He has pace and takes some of the preassure of Boa.

Radz: Not a bad game in all honesty. He made some good runs and nice passes.

    Knight: SOLID

Liam: Did a great job defending but caught to close to our touchline and gave away many of the corners...lucky for us the Spurs didn't capitalize.

McBride and HH: I really like these two alot. Both hard workers and both with an eye on goal at all times. They are like two tanks out there.

Steed and Boa: They both had average games but thats what made this win special, with out our two biggest influences, we still won

Elliot: Some awful passes at times, he made up for them ten fold with his free kicks and corners. Well done to him.

Thats it for now...I will be attending the match at Old Trafford and I really can't wait for that.

It felt good to stuff the Spurs (sorry Bee) but respect to their supporters for the singing they did. COME ON YOU SUPER WHITES.

You were right, although Knight fulfilled my expectation of botching it late in the game (although not in injury time).
