so, we're going to be facing a toon side with Michael Owen. I hope he's not too fired up in his return to the Premiership.

That is not good news for us. He is a great Premiership striker and has a knack for scoring goals. It will be his home debut and I expect him to be on top of his game. Fulham's defense will need to be ready. Owen might be the only thing that is keeping Souness as manager right now.

Yep, what was a 50/50 chance for an away win is now very much uphill.

I'm thinking the stands will be packed with newly found fans... Toon "D" isnt really all that bad..1.3 GAA.

And the fulham D cant afford one slip.

Even then, there's no way to stop the 'lucky strike' of a motivated new boy... just as the MetroStards found out a week ago with Chivas.

Volz, Goma, Boca, Jensen for that game...and it will be the game of Warner's career.

Bad news for Fulham next Saturday, but good news for English football. It was a huge waste of talent for Owen to sit on the bench at Madrid.

ah yes, but he has a few days to get injured. i've never wished injury on anyone, but i just hope he stumbles into a cone or something on the training pitch and gets ruled out for just the Fulham game ;)

great signing, just at the wrong time, at least for us.

I was listening to the FiveLive 606 show with Spoony. he was going on about how Owen is only there for Owen doesn't really care about Newcastle, but he just wanted to move to the premiership to secure his place on the England squad for the World Cup.

Now while I think this is at least partly true, mainly since he initially agreed to only go to Newcastle on a season's loan, I think he's still going to add alot to the team and cause huge problems for Fulham.

But much other thought is...Liverpool sold him for 8M and didn't want to buy him back for a price over that. So, did newcastle pay too much, or was the 8M price Liverpool sold him for way too low?

I personally think Liverpool sold him on the cheap last season for 8 million. I also feel that Benitez does not like Owen. He is the man responsible for selling him to Real Madrid and now he is the one making up all the excuses why he is not back with Liverpool. I do not think Benitez wanted anything to do with him.

I do not think Newcastle necessarily overpaid for him considering there situation right now and their lack of goal scorers.

Actually, this is not only good for England but for Owen. Assuming he believes he will excel. I cant believe he put up with that for as long as he did.

Remember though... the Toon still have to get the ball to him for him to be effective.

Should make some US fans reconsider the Donovan opt-out of Leverkeusen.

I guess that job now falls to Solano. The rest of their midfield is pretty crap.
