The Bengals, starting with their first team against the Colts' backups.. made them pay 38-0 in front of 59,000

But all the QB candidates played in the game as well as those on the cut-down bubble.

Somewhat surprising but not when you think about it... Craig Krenzel picked over Casey Bramlett as #3. Despite Bramlett's better showing, Krenzel has proved that his brainpower is an asset in itself. Word has it that he's had little trouble getting the playbook down.. and his performance with the Bears last season must have figured in.
In fact, I'm still wondering why the Bears let him go... unless someone there is uncomfortable with a QB that might have some real smarts, like an honors degree in microbiology.

Subtext: Pretty sure this will be Kitna's last year with the Bengals

Because he stinks. He might have the brainpower and all, but he is brutal. I know you are a Buckeye fan, but this guy does not have what it takes to play in the NFL.

I guess I should have put the caveat in there... he isnt NFL first team material and probably never will be. In fact, he wasnt the best QB in the Big 10 when he played for OSU.

I think he's the guy who'll least disrupt the flow of a game when called in at the spur of the moment, however... and he'll be very good at running the practice squad because he's a quick study.
    Maybe that was the thinking.

Just wanted to point out that your Bears went down like the "Red Knight".

    Go 'Skins!

(for the Red Knight reference, please see the movie "Cable Guy". Red Knights going down...down, down, down.)

    RE: Chicago Bears

The Redskins still stink! The Bears offense committed too many penalties to win that game. I still like the Bears chances this season.
