Did anyone notice that one of the five suspects arrested in Aruba with connections to her disappearance was wearing a Bolton practice top? It took a few looks to make sure, but I indeed saw the "BW" logo and it was a Reebok made shirt. While that has nothing to do with solving this mystery, I found it a bit amusing.

I saw that too...i thought it was funny, but I'm not sure why. Ir eally dont' know anything about Bolton Fans...now if it was a Fulham Jersey we could start the accusations right on this board

on a totally different note, who the hell cares? Hundreds of people are kidnapped every day, sure this is a semi-attractive white girl who was on vacation...but i'm not sure why its national news.

I always wonder why a story makes national headlines. I mean why do some murders like the Laci Peterson/Scott Peterson ordeal make national headlines and one of the many murders that happen in Chicago do not make the headlines. Makes no sense to me. I do not know what criteria the media look for in picking and choosing the stories they run.

Because pretty, rich white girls make for good headlines... God forbid the media actually had to pursue stories about the real crap going on in the world... Sadly, it's not even helping their ratings... people are getting so annoyed over all of these stories they're just not paying attention anymore...

I think it IS a subconscious thing.
Perhaps the Attention given to various serial killer stories back 10 or 20 years ago, planted the concept thatid a black girl goes missing, there might have been a "hooker" connection.

That's unfortunate to say the least, Tamika's parents worry and grieve just as much as the Holloway's, there's no indication she invited any trouble.. so what else COULD it be, but an unbidden bias?

But I'm in agreement with Johnny C here.... too much coverage of a story with a predictable outcome.

at the risk of sounding morbid...do they need a body to stop this media coverage?

I really doubt many think she's still alive, and if they can't find the body, when will the coverage of this stop?

Probably until the next kidnapping, murder of a pretty white girl, or celebrity trial.

Well they found the ohter kid that was missing out in Utah.

I'm really surprised that he was able to survive for four days, especially someplace like Utah.

I'm sure that he used some of that Boy Scout training...

Either way, i am much more interested in this than the Halloway thing

I don't think the Holloway story has been getting an inordinate amount of media attention, nor has it been the only kidnapping/lost child story to make national headlines. It has, however, probably received the longest-running coverage, because the investigation has lasted so long, and there are so many "players" involved. You've got the Van Der Sar (oops, Sloot) family, the Kalpoes, the FBI, the Dutch authorities...quite a cast!

And to go one step further, yes she was a pretty blonde haired white girl, but this is also going on in Aruba. A gorgeous, popular vacation spot has become Paradise Lost. All that shiz. The press love that.

So anyway, I find no mystery in the fact that this story has been and will continue to be in the headlines. What I find MUCH more remarkable is how other stories (specifically Terry Schiavo and that freak runaway bride chick) ever become as huge as they were. Lots of peeps in comas; lots of people jilting their significant others at the altar every day...how did these get picked to be the "hot" news stories?

World and national politics are working out quite well without me...

As long as the Dems keep talking and the NY times keeps writing crap, all's well with the world!

    Soros shuts down ACT
    Move-On money drying up
AFL-CIO bustup due to focussing on natioanl politics instead of what they're supposed to do.
Air Hamerica in a REAL financial misappropriation fraud/scandal... not really AA's fault but imagine if it was on the other side of the poli-fence!

    Nope they dont need me.
    ;)

Besides... there's too much "soccer' happening!!!!
