    "Quite a ride for McBride on national team"

    My question is: Where did he come up with that 'flick-on' stat?

    Certainly a few of his facts and assumptions have to be leavened with salt.

    The 17 goal season could be done straight up going to goal, because the MLS defenses the first few years were just AWFUL!
    {Witness Valderrama's success as a target}

    AND, the 2003 fantastic season, for him.. was NOT too great because he was the only one who could seem to find the net and he wasnt really getting anyone to send the ball to.. if they kept 'flick-ons' that year, the number would be low. The Crew ended season in the cellar.

    However it is great to see him finally recognized across the nation's presss again.. just like post WC-02...

    NOW if CC can just field a stable squad, Brian will go out on the high that he's deserved for years.

    I think he can go out on a high note. I just hope he gets ample opportunities to showcase his talent. He clearly proved in the last two months that he is a solid Premiership scorer. However, I am not so convinced that Cookie will put him out on the pitch every match as I think he should. There is a lot of time between now and the beginning of the season. I just hope that any changes Fulham do make does not involve McBride or the future of McBride's playing time. He deserves a full season in the starting XI. If he gets his time in the matches, I think it will be a great season for Brian and Fulham!
