Ben Folds - Songs for Silverman

Just came out yesterday... fantastic stuff! I wish I could play piano like this guy... he uses it to its fullest possibilities...

The song "Landed" is one of his best in a long time...

 

I am listening to it right now. It is a decent record, but I like his first solo release better so far. I do think he is an exceptional piano player. I will be listening to this more and more today. I am only giving my opinion after playing it through one time.

 

Ben Folds is my favorite find since I moved to the US. I wanted to go see him in NYC at the Town Hall but my wife did not get me tickets for my birthday... boo hoo. Is this album worth buying? The last albumn I bought by him was the love one which, in my humble opinion, is one of the better live albums I own, second only to Oasis' Familiar to Millions and U2 Live at Red Rocks.

 

It is worth buying I would say. It sounds like you enjoy him enough and while I do not think this record is his best, it is still good.

Glen, do you own the Ben Folds Five records? Those are great too.

 

The more I listen to this new cd, the more I like it. Solid record and recommended listening for anyone that enjoys the piano.

 

Tom, I have a few of the albums...but most of my CDs are in storage so I am not sure which ones. I ought to complete the collection really.

 

It is not bad, but not nearly as enjoyable as his first solo album.
