Welll.... I am torn about the Schiavo case. MORE interested in what will be found AFTER she dies... IF there is a comprehensive autopsy and her body isnt sent by Michael directly to be cremated "in accordance with her wishes" {snicker} Anyone want to bet?

But Markos logic is idiotic because it brings up by extrapolation that ANY feeding is "life support", esp in nursing homes and hospitals... it certainly wouldnt be called "dining".
And it's interesting that she is using a feeding tube though she CAN swallow water and soft food... but you never do that to a patient in a semi-paralyzed state for danger of choking.

Supposing Christopher Reeves.... had said something offhand, of the sort to his wife, and......

The TRUE logic is that withdrawal of the technique and reliance on the NATURAL process or function results in death. In this case, feeding her by mouth, that's certainly NOT the absolute outcome.

And, following KosLogic, a pacemaker is ALSO a life support machine.link

This whole Schiavo thing is driving me nuts. I am not gonna lie and tell everyone I know a lot about the positions of both sides, but it is getting old hearing about in on the news, reading it in newspapers, etc. Settle the damn thing and move on to something else.

The lengths of which both sides have gone to turn this thing into a circus disgusts me.

God forbid any of us ever need to make a decision such as this, but the last thing they would need is to turn a very private matter into a national debate.

Tom, I feel exactly the same... the conservative view is being hurt on this.
Though this cuts across politics to personal beliefs. Some conservatives are AGAINST the legal shenanigans ... and maybe I am too.

I want the ORIGINAL criminal investigation... opened when the paramedics called the cops to the scene of her collapse.... to be reopened.

But look again at that Kos statement and see why I brought up the subject.

I'm more interested in what will be the FINAL result of this...I dunno which side is going to be more embarrassed.

Petty, never took you for a conspiracy theorist. I haven't seen any, I mean any, remotely credible evidence to suggest that Mr. Schiavo had anything to do with what happened to his wife.

It seems to me that the whole situation by him is quite sketchy... did he do this to her? Well I dont know... but what I do know is that she was disallowed by him to by wheeled outside.... disallowed by him to have her hand fed...

I'm with Petty on this... well kinda. But I'm looking at the larger ramifications of this whole issue.

THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT STICKING ITS HEAD INTO ISSUES LIKE THIS.
