Ok... more readable. It seems that the conclusion to this one will be war and we will probably con China into it because we'd rather them get killed fight N. Korea than actually wanting any part of the pacific that we currently control.

This is truly crazy. China is eventually gonna rule the world. But the US is stubborn to let that happen. Lets see if China teams up with N. Korea and runs the board.

Clinton was handling the problem, then Jimmy "we can all get along" Carter went over there and told N Korea that there was no way the US would ever invade them.

Speaking softly didnt work... the guy's not rational. So now we're brandishing the stick.

China IS key to this.. we are certainly playing the diplomatic game here.

But think of what is China's interest in this. They make tons of money from the US ... NK is a sinkhole and an embarassment to them.

That being said.... times change, my point soley lies in doing good if doing at all.... why are we the only ones who are allowed nukes?

Why be concerned with such a nation so far away.... why not solve domestic issues... .why go from one country to the next? Are we sending missionaries next? How else can we waste my tax money? Who shot JR? Where are the WMDs? Why does GW look like a midget no matter how short the podium is? Have you snapped in to a slim jim? Whats going on with Social Security? How about perscriptions drugs? When did we actually become Team America: World Police? Loan me 5 dollars...

Interesting posts....I've just learned alot about american politics....of course, i'm no expert at this but it would be interesting to see how the American govornment treats the UAE....i've done alot of travelling and have firends all over the world...the most worrying place for me to visit was Dubai....an incredible superwealth that seems to politicly dormant to the best of my knowledge...They are currently building an immensly powerful nation....the only place that i've travelled to and not felt 'safe'. Anyone have any knoweledge on this, it would make very interesting reading for me.

I dont have time to educate and support basic modern world history:

So I'll just answer in kind - simplistically but trying to avoid the smart-ass.

1. Carter did ONE thing right in his whole diplomatic life. Camp David. And it turns out that, in retrospect, the country that benefitted most -or ONLY one- was Egypt.

2. Making 'nice'... more UN resolutions? Threatening diplomatic action if the previous diplomatic action doesnt work?

3. We arent... review the nations which actually HAVE nukes. But let's put it this way...I aint afraid of Chinese Nukes and I'm lot's less worried about Iran having them than N Korea.
- The problem with Iran having them is the same as NK and Pakistan... giving out the smaller ones to terror groups.

- Closed -totally closed, fringe lunatic- societies like NK, with terror weapons, is bad. Think of the recent school shooting and imagine giving that kid an RPG launcher and a box of ammo.

And yes, I'd be more worried about Dubai having them than Iran.. as well.

Are we operating these debates on the idea that terrorists are after the US cuz we are infidels? Or are we assuming that we've wronged these countries first?

Most all that I have read, partisan or non, has suggested that most times these "fringe lunatic" societies have been screwed by a "not so fringe lunatic" society.

Now, can I gut that? Well lets see, IRAN is run based on a religious rite.... so they would be crazy cuz they would blow us up cuz Allah told them too.... or they assumed Allah might want them too.... After all they are ridding the world of evil.... that kinda sounds like the rhetoric of GW....

Your right about NK, but they ARE a closed nation, and they dont seem to be looking to take on anywhere but SK, well for right now anyways.

I would truly be afraid of China right now. The populous isnt only scary on the battlefield but in economics too.... they are a serious threat in every facet of modern capitalizm.

As for Dubai... back in the late late 1800's there was a up and coming economic power with a strong population, at some point in the on coming years they realized WAR and business were basically the same animal.... and then we preceded to take over the world.
