Another opportunity to jump back into the mix for a top 10 spot. Newcastle has been excellent this season and currently sits 6th. Just as impressive has been their road form w/pts in 7 of the 10 away matches (4 wins, 3 draws). I would certainly expect the team to come out and give a good performance after last weeks debacle. Not sure about the status of Moose, so will be interested on what the line-up is if he's a scratch.

**If you are lurking out there SteveM19, the Geordies avatar would be a welcome albeit disturbing sight!

Yes, the Geordies would indeed be a welcome sight. I just hope my internet and cable are restored by Saturday...or else no game or chat for me. I might be able to watch the USmnt in Spanish though.

Tough matchup with the way Newcastle is playing this season. With how up and down this team has been this season though it would make sense that they play well. Definitely need to make up for last week.

Not gonna lie, not optomisitic about this one. Our only saving grace is our penchant this season for stepping up against the stronger squads on the road. As nev so accurately pointed out, this has been a Jeckyl and Hyde proposition so far this season. So the question is, which side will reveal itself at St. Jame...err, Sporting Dir...err, WHATEVER the hell they're calling it this week.

Oh, and here's an interesting tidbit. This is the note on their website if you're a supporter wanting a "new" replica jersey...

THE NEWCASTLE UNITED VIRGIN MONEY HOME SHIRT HAS AN APPLIED PATCH OVER THE ORIGINAL SPONSORS LOGO AND WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE LONGEVITY OF THE APPLICATION.

Talk about screwing the fans! Surely we can beat these zebras!

The internet censorship/cable blackout is over in DCHeather's casa. I will be able to watch Fulham and the USMNT after all. I just hope I am treated to good performances by both teams.

Anyone up for the chat room?

ugh, no Dembele for tomorrow. Newcastle without Ba and Cisse, but I still dont feel good about this without the Moose.

    Hi Gang,

definitely no Moussa -- but then again, Demba Ba being gone helps counteract that. A weak and toothless QPR couldn't score on them last Saturday, but -- then again -- they kept another clean sheet.

    I figure we win 2-0. :banana-linedance:

If I get into the chatroom at all, it'll be at half time since the match is on TV live. I hope to get Heather my match report within 45 minutes of the final whistle.

    COYW! :banana-dance:

PS as a highly adept morse code operator, I'm very pleased to see this smily :confusion-helpsos:

Good Morning Fulhamites! Guardian squad sheet has Deuce up front with Zamora with Ruiz on the wing. Decent contest between the Cheaters and Canaries right now. Lots of back and forth with blues getting more possession and chanced but Norwich holding there own while generating several decent chances of their own. Fairly entertaining.

Baird!!!! What a difference when we had a defensive player in the middle of the park!!

Congrats to Demps for another hattrick!

Damn channel went out and came back on for the last three minutes so never saw the last Dempsey goal. Good performance in the second half! Hopefully we can build off of it.

Tale of two halves. Don't know what was said at halftime but boy did they come out flying in the second.

Congrats to Dempsey on yet another hattrick and it was great to see Zamora get involved again. Big game for Baird as well.

Much needed win over a very good Newcastle team. COYW! What a win! :banana-dance:

This has been a season of ups and downs and today we had them all in one match. First against Juve and today against Newcastle: Baird in CM: You know it makes sense.

I look forward to the 45 minute match tape in the club shop soon and get well soon Dembele and Schwarzer.

New record in the chatroom  (props to the 3 who came in at half and changed the tide). As Nev pointed out, Clint w/No. 50 in a Fulham jersey (followed by 51 and 52). Surreal match, but a very important 3 points. :banana-linedance:

Clint w/his second hat trick in 3 games and first US player w/one in a Prem match. :bow-yellow:

I already had my post-match rant formulated at half time and am very, very happy to be able to scrap it.

That said - still some things to be learned from that first half. We need to have more defined roles for the players out on the pitch, as opposed to a few offensive-minded midfielders getting in each others' way trying to play off a lone striker.

Have to give MOTM to Demps, but I thought AJ was tremendous as well. It's amazing what injecting some pace and energy up top can do. Jol appears wary of it, but a 4-4-2 is still proving our most dangerous setup.

I realize that was sort of a rant after all. I certainly don't mean to sound chippy after a 5-2 win with a Dempsey hat trick (I'm really rather pleased). I just want to see more of the us from the second half than the us of the first.

And some Fulham fans say Mr. Jol doesn't know his tactics. Good job Fulham: players and management.
