I've not bored you with any thoughts on "Easongate" which is the 'hump' of the 21st century news/sourcing/criticism realignment, till the stink had settled out to some extent and we'd gotten over the "hump".

Well, the hump is now behind us and the old line Press, everywhere, is scrambling to re-write their house rules.

The role of WebLogs in influence of the public opinion had been regarded as a pleasant diversion until they started weighing in on Kerry's Viet Nam service and the Main Stream Media decided they had better start paying attention...
So when Rathergate came along and the docs were exposed as frauds, within 24 hours by some guy in his pajamas, it got serious attention - though some stupidly cling to the view they may have been genuine.

Now, Eason Jordan of CNN has been forced to resign because he made some stupid un-substantiated remarks to a closed door gathering of Liberal Media and politicians... several of which politicians objected to them, immediately.

It wasnt his first instance of malfeasance... he admitted making a deal with Saddam in the nineties to not cover any atrocity stories so as to allow CNN to remain in Iraq.

Plus he was Saddam's Judas goat to get the Sons-in-law to return to Iraq so Hussein could execute them.

So, when the word of Jordan's dumb statement got out and some RW bloggers demanded to see the tape of his speech, it was all downhill from there.

It's only common sense that CNN execs HAVE seen the tape and asked Jordan to resign... never mind the attempt at spin control from the original objectors; Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and David Gergen.

And the blogger attacks on MSM focus, not on those who apologized for Jordan, but those who didnt cover it AT ALL till the crap hit the fan!

Brave New World! I heard that used somewhere...

Do you intentionally write nonsense that is impossible to read?
