I'm going to sound like a newbie here, but who owns the rights to the "old crest?"

I believe it is owned by the Hammersmith Neighborhood or something like that. I am not 100% sure on that though.

Well, you're right, it belongs to the Hammersmith and Fulham Borough. Still, that doesn't justify why we changed to such an ugly new crest. We could just have gone back the the classis FFC-crest of the 70's.

I love the new crest, so the opinions is not unanimous. It has a nice combination of a traditional look with a modern touch.

I would just like to interject this for your pesonal consideration:

This debate goes on and on but those who plump for the traditional should think about WHY they think this way. I suspect it refers to 'fandom' rather than reality.

In FACT the "old Crest" is about as non-descript as they come. If you like your jersey to display an icon that makes you part of a 'secret society'.. only recognizable to insiders... all well and good.
It's NOT as if the old crest was as unique as the gunners or the spurs!

If you want to be identified as a Fulham fan from 50 paces, there's no contest!

I, as you know am a geezer, who has seen a lot of this 'branding controversy'. But I differ from a lot of my age in that I believe that -generally- "new' is BETTER. Especially when it's done for a purpose other than just to be different.

Many or most my age, for example STILL cling to the notion that they dont "build cars like they used to"... no they dont, and thank God and Lee Iacocca for THAT!

Old cars are fun but they were CRAP! Compared to the reliability and value for money of today's.

OTOH, the rebirth of the Chrysler logo of the thirties makes my stomach churn. I thought it was crap when I was a kid in the fifties, and I think it's crap now.

Flame on...I dont care. I am right.
