As a O's and cubs fan, i think both of these teams really made out in this deal.

Chicago got rid of a player that fair or not, was blamed for last seasons failures. They get hariston (who's very good) and two prospects (dunno who yet)

B'more gets someone that will actually fill up the seats in camden yards. Sosa's past his prime, but i'd be willing to guess he'll hit between 30-40 homeruns this season. Since Cal left there really hasn't been a big name players to put on an O's Jersey

As a Cub fan, I like the trade. I am not one who blamed Sosa for not winning last year. He did not necessarily help much, but he is not the whole reason the Cubs failed last year.

What position does Hairston Jr play? 2b?

He can play 2B but he broke his hang in spring training last year. Brian Roberts moved into play 2B and did a great job at it, so when hariston came back, he played centerfield very well.

I'm not sure he'll replace walker and certainly not Patterson. I'm not sure if he can play LF or RF though. he'd be a great leadoff batter though. Good average, walks a lot, good speed and can slap a lot of doubles into the gaps for the 2, 3, and 4 hitters

I like the fact that he can play many positions. The Cubs definitely have some gaps to fill in the outfield. I bet they throw him in right or left field. Does he have much of an arm?

The Cubs are also rumoured to be after Jeremy Burnitz. That is one clown I do not want on the Cubs. That guy strikes out so much. The Cubs have enough strike outs on the team already we do not need more.

I think the CUbs should steer clear of Burnitz and Ordonez, supposedly they are talking about trading Farnsworth to Tampa Bay for Aubrey Huff.
Huff is young and versatile at positions, he would be a good addition.

Sammy is a good player but he put himself ahead of the rest of the team, which was one of the reasons he is now no longer a Cub.
