How many of you, gentle readers, know that a US Nuclear Sub ran head-on into an undersea wall, at 35 MPH, on January 8th?

    Thought so!

This could have been more disastrous than the recent Norwegian Sub problem... or the Russian Sub of a few years ago...

But the incident was hardly covered.

It should have been because the story reveals some pretty extraordinary stuff!
    Read more about it
Check the link at the bottom of that article which explains WHY it happened but also raises the issue, in my own mind, of how many old sub wrecks one might find at the base of this undersea mountain.

But I DO smell a movie...

Shucks I never knew about this. Why was this not reported? Was it covered up due to the severity?

no, conspiracy theorists will tell you that the sub actually was on a secret mission to set off a bomb to start the tsunami in Asia

That would explain the US governement's initial pledge of aid being lower than other countries perhaps.

Can't wait to see the dvd! (sarcasm)

    IMO, just the opposite:

    1. Other events of the day

    2. Points out yet ANOTHER example of the military doing things right and the professionalism exhibited... thus the Old Media isnt interested.

    3. While there is obvious embarassment at the charts not being updated, that is obvious bureaucracy at work.
    - If this was a company, someone would be designing software to automatically comb through sat images and compare them to charts.. but it's the Guv and such would end up being a 5 year project and go for about 100,000,000.
