St. Louis vs. Seatle - PICK: St. Louis, they seem offensive enough, if they can make a key defensive play they are a lock. But other than the history of these two teams, the edge going to the RAMS (the Freds), this is probably the hardest to call, Seatle has a lot of talent, I think Holmgren is a better all around coach.

NYJ vs. San Diego - PICK: New York, I swear I'm not bias on this one. I truly think that the Chargers are a better team, but I know that when John Abraham is healthy he makes up for the poor secondary play of the Jets by drawing a doubleteam and taking away big downfield plays. But the key here is the Jets offensive, sure Penningtons arm is soar, but hes ok. The Jets will establish the run and keep the game close.

Denver vs. Indianapolis - PICK: Indy, offense is too strong. They dont need to do much to win, Manning is unstopable. I do think John Lynch sent a message whether the offensive players want to admit it or not, this could be an upset, but lets get serious Plummer is to inconsistent. Manning is too good.

Minnesotta vs Green Bay - PICK: Green Bay, Favre, Favre, Favre... he just seems so on, the only thing working against them is the fact that they are playing at home which still boggles my mind. The Vikings are dangerous, but Mike Tyce is a mediocre coach, Moss is a flake, Culpepper can't do it by himself and they have no momentum. Nuff said.

The favorites take it 3-1. GO JETS!

I am gonna go on a limb and pick Minnesota over Green Bay. The old adage is that it is hard to beat a team three times. I will take Dante and the 6 Kings to get it done.
I will take Indy over Denver.
I will take the Bolts against the Jets, and
I will take the Rams over the Seahawks in a battle of two teams that have no business being in the playoffs.

Rams are +4 right now. I'd put some cash on them if i still bet NFL. It'll be a close game but the seahawks tend to choke (we're gonna take the ball...and we're gonna WIN!)

Other than that, i've got the favorites too.

Colts win and cover big (not as bad as last year)

Green Bay wins (doesn't cover, they're last two games were won on last second field goals)

    Chargers win and cover

I was 3-1 overall. I did not make any picks against the spread. Johnny, later this week, we will have to pick striaght up and against the spread for this weekend's games.

Well, Smokin' sure got it mostly right.

And picking the Vikes over Green Bay would have been the sweetener... I wish I had gotten into that pick, with commentary!
I thought it was TIME for Favre to have a bad one; but even then I thought it would be closer.

Well the early lines for this weekend's games

    Pittsburgh -9
    Atlanta -7
    Philly -9.5
    New England -2.5

I'd put an early bet in for Philly to not be able to cover that 10 points without TO.

I've got no idea which St. Louis team or Atlanta team will show up, so that's not a safe bet either way, over under is 48.5, i'd bet the over on that game.

i've gotta think about Pittsburgh/New York.

And I like the Colts in a semi-upset. the New England secondary is banged up and it was Law who hurt Peyton last year and he's on the IR.

Well, then..I'll CERTAINLY take the under... I'm betting on neither to show up.
I dont... unless there' some long shot, great payoff feature, forget the Jets.
While the Offensive line has spent the last games reminding Maddox from where any success comes, all that is bygones come playoffs.
    Rookie or Maddox, "stealers" win.
Yep... this is FINALLY the year that the curious Manning/Colts spontaneous breakdown-hemmorhage in the big game is over.

Dang! Had to go back to the Ouija board because it wasnt clear whether that about the Colts meant in 2005 - the Year or 2005 - the Season.
    - and Zebulon has apparently left the house!

Quick! Gimme odds on Pat's straight up, Vinitieri kick winner in snow-squall, less than 45 seconds left on clock!

Manning has too many targets for the Pats to be able to cover. Troy Brown can't cover them all. But weather does have a lot to do with it, its gonna be cold, but dry, no snow or rain to blame it on like earlier in the year or last year's playoffs.

    I'll still say colts.

Manning is 0-5 at Gillette Stadium I believe.

    Make it 0-6!

He's got 9 picks in those games too...including 3 in last years title game.

But when they played earlier in the season, they lose by 3 points..not bad considering

2 fumbles in the red zone by James
1 interception in the end zone by manning
1 missed field goal by vanderjagt

all in the slop. no slop this weekend, chilly yes, but no wind/snow/rain

By the way, i don't love the colts, i hate them in fact, its the first thing they teach you growing up in B'more

If the Colts can't stop Correy Dillon, the Pats will win, also watch out for turnovers.

Turnovers usually doom the Colts at Gillette Stadium.
