This team was one of the best and had one of the best defense ever in 85 but, now have no offense and need help. What can the Bears do to get back to the Playoffs or even 8-8. They have a good pick in the NFL Draft at #4 heres what they should do.

    1. New Offense coach. They call a 4 yard pass play on 3rd and 8 way too much and it dosent work.

2.Get Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards in the draft. Terrell is ok but, they need some help.

3.Travis Henry. The Bills have 2 great running backs they will probably trade one and the Bears need a new Running Back.

4.Rex Grossman. This team was 1-1 and had the ball at the Vikings down 5 or 6 points. Then Grossman gets hurt and that really hurt this already bad offense.

5.Keep this defense. This defense is top 7-10 in the NFL with an Ok offense the Bears could go 9-7.

Any other things the Bears could do.

I agree the offense is the key component needing improvement.

Rex Grossman tho is a moderate to good QB at best. Not that he couldnt get them to 9 - 7. I think a good halfback could free him up a bit and take some of the pass rushers off his back.

As for the Bills trading a running back, I'm not sure if they wont come at a high price, MacGahee is a phenom, and I had my doubts but he IS GOOD. I think the Bill are still scared he will get folded up one play, so Henry might stay and share the duty. If a trade happens it happens after the draft, so they can see who they can get to back up either of them and drop a big contract.

This all amounts to less minutes for the D. Which is good, cuz they are KILLING Brian Urlacher who comes up lame often it seems these days, but obviously they are protecting their investment and resting him when they arent competitive.

Good breakdown FFC24, the bears are looking ahead to better days, they've been bad for too long.

Well the Bears need a lot of help in many areas. First and foremost they could not block anyone at all this season on the offensive line. We have a good running back in Thomas Jones if the holes are there for him to run through. I do think as was mentioned that a backup running back would be nice as Anthony Thomas is gonna be gone no doubt about it.
As for the pick, we do need a big play guy and my vote goes to Mike Williams. I think he is a little faster and has better hands that Braylon. That is hard for me to say as I am a die hard Michigan fan, but I would take Williams.
In the other rounds, the Bears need to get some lineman, a tight end, and some linebackers to have some depth there.
I do think the Bears are headed in the right direction. Living in Chicago it has been quite sad the last decade or so in terms of the Bears. They stink.
One last think the Bears need to address is the backup quarterback situation. Had the Beards addressed this problem in the offseason last year, they may have made the playoffs in the abysmal NFC. Grossman can be good, but seems injury prone. They have to get someone in here that can step in if need be and get the job done.
They are close, but I am not sure if I trust the GM, Jerry Angelo, to get the job done. I think he is a bit of a buffoon to be honest with you.

Trust me Johnny things were already in the crapper before the UFO landing. That only added to the matter though. This team is run bad from the top up. The Mckaskey family is a joke. This city has a bunch of bad owners. The Tribune Company, Jerry Reinsdorf, The McKaskey family and Rod Wertz for the Blackhawks are the main reasons why Chicago cannot get a winner in any sport.

Well they dont need defense.Really the move that really hurt the Bears was to trade Booker. He was an 80-100 catches a year.I mean they already had Defense they didnt need anymore players on defense. If Grossman can play 16 games and the Bears get another receiver then the Bears can be 9-7 which in the NFC is good enough in the playoffs.

In hindsight it is easy to look back on that trade as being bad, but I think in the long run, Ogunleye will be a great defensive player for the Bears. Booker was good, but I am not convinced he would have made much of a difference this season if he were on the team. The Bears do need some big play guys to come in here for next season. If not, it does not matter who is playin' grab ass behind center because the offense will stink like it did this year.

I agree they need to draft an impact receiver in the draft. I do think they can do no wrong by drafting Edwards. Then again I saw him play more this past season than any other receivers and I like Michigan so I am biased. The buffoon Angelo though might trade away the pick, I would not be surprised.

The BEars defense is solid and will be fine next season. They definitely need to stop running those lame reverses and throwing short passes on long yardage situations.

The running game seems solid, I would like to also see Grossman come back and have an above average backup. Maybe Brees or Rivers can be obtained in a trade, who knows?
