anyone going to watch the college football national championship game tonight?
I sure am. it is supposed to be one of the best ever
i got my money on USC

And BTW...it's gonna have to go some to beat Ohio State/ Miami a couple years past.

I may or may not watch.. because Ohio State spanked Oklahoma State... thus my college season is over on the best possible note.

OTOH, whoever wins this game IS the National Champion... never mind the crybabies from Auburn... If they'd beaten Va Tech by a lot, I might have some sympathy for them.

 

I got the Sooners tonight

I think the Sooners will win tonight. It will be a good game though. I will watch some of it, but not all of it.

 

Hey, pettyfog -- I'm a HUGE Buckeyes fan, too! I grew up near Cleveland, my Dad and 2 of my brothers went to OSU, and my grandparents lived not too far from Columbus (in Newark -- well, actually Heath). I've been going to Buckeyes games since I was about 2! Even if we don't have tickets, my brothers and I try still try to go a couple times a year just to see the TBDBiTL!

Okay, I have a confession to make -- I went to Notre Dame (and I love the place), but when we played OSU a few years back, I admit I was rooting for the Bucks! The Bucks, of course, kindly obliged me by kicking our butts both years! Coop was good for SOMETHING, I guess.

 

Okay... so I screwed up. But I suppose Stoops COULD admit to his team they arent as good as they thought they were, but they're good enough to get a few back.
That's the thing about the Big 12.. self delusion; only Texas prepared, I think.. and they got to play Michigan, of all teams and Mich got brought to earth by OSU.

ChiFan: Nothing wrong with going to ND but they should really get to work on finding a conference to play in, the Glory Days are over... how long are the Regis Philbin alumni types gonna pull in the ratings on an independent TV contract?

I have this visceral dislike of the Big 12. Probably due to the media hype about them over the years.

Well between you Pettyfog and ChicagoFan we will have some nice discussions about college football. I support the Maize and Blue of Michigan. I have since I was a little kid. However, tomorrow, I will be pulling the Buckeyes to upend Illinois. Despite the fact that I gre up an hour from the campus, I despise that school more than any other in the nation.

 

Talk about a long shot! Why... that would be like Spurs walking away from Old Trafford with 3 points!

OSU B-Ball has a long way to go to get back to respectability though Motta is doing it faster than I would have thought.
