    Teemu was brilliant.

And the 'Hawks rear their ugly heads to take game 1 - Quick needs his mojo to return.

I can't blame Quick on this one. There wasn't much he could do on any of the Chicago goals...the first came at the very end of a penalty kill when the whole team was gassed and pretty useless. The second was a ridiculous double-deflection and the third was when the Kings were pressing and got caught on as clear a 3 on 1 as you'll see.

The second goal was really the back-breaker. The Kings were dominating the game at the time. It was a bad bounce...you just have to hope there's enough time in the series for those things to even out.

Understood, but the Quick that stood on his head against the Sharks needs to return - that man was unbeatable regardless...however the 'Hawks have heart and soul, something that the Sharks could use.

Now that I've caught my breath....

The Kings become the first team in NHL history to win three Game 7's on the road and march into a Finals date with the Rangers. My memory's not too good, but they said this is the first time since Dodgers-Yankees in 1981, that there's been a LA-NY final in a major sport. Should be fun.

Tim, you are overlooking the immortal 2002 WNBA Finals when the LA Sparks defeated the NY Liberty 2-0 in a best-of-three.

    ;)

My son asked why I was rooting for the Kings last night and I said: I just am...and I enjoy watching Quick. He was cool with that.

The Kings looked flat and tired from their epic battle with Chicago and still found a way to win Game 1, I'd say the Rangers are in trouble.

The Kings haven't held a lead in regulation in the series, and yet go to NYC up 2-0. There's simply no logical way to explain how the Kings are in this position. Which is why they may just win this whole thing.

I think they have trailed by 2+ goals in each of the last three games yet have found ways to win.

I stand by my inclination - the Kings will win the Cup. On paper, and ahead 3-0, SJ looked primed for a Cup run. But, then, the Kings found their mojo and have not lost it since. Start planning the parade...

Congrats to the Kings! Still the best trophy ceremony in all of sports, IMHO. Nothing like skating with Lord Stanley's Cup, especially on home ice.
