    Thank you to all veterans, especially my grandpa who piloted a landing craft.

    "Portsmouth's D-Day Museum says as many as 4,413 Allied troops died on the day of the invasion." That's staggering, and only the first day.

    My father in law hit the beach on D-Day (Utah). He said they were going to give them training in how to dig a foxhole, but never got around to it. He reported that they learned really fast.
