    ...at least, according to MAF

    Perhaps he has a point.

What a crock of fecal matter. I've lost all respect for this guy now. It's a miracle how we got into and stayed up in the Premiership under this guy. Defenders who played like they were the statue got us relegated, not a curse for removing the bloody thing. I'll root for Fulham in the Isthmian League before I believe that hideous statue should return to Craven Cottage.

I've often heard Craven Cottage compared to Wrigley Field (historic, cozy, friendly old sports venue). Will the Michael Jackson statue now become our billy goat?

I was going to argue that he'd said that tongue in cheek. I'd question his level of taste, to make jokes at the expense of our relegation so soon, but then we've all known Mo is eccentric and a bit of a loon.

    But then I read this:

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9300018?

Let's start with that statue. We were pedestrian at best in Jol's 2nd season and absolute garbage during the 2nd half of that season...with the statue of that pedophile in place. There wasn't an ounce of luck in that thing.

Is he really criticizing Khan's spending after he barely spent a dime over the last three years? Perhaps he has a point, seeing as we have a complete rebuild ahead of us, but then that's largely because of the condition MAF left the club in.

Way to kick the club you supposedly loved and it's supporters when they're down. What a classless, narcissistic little troll.

I was about to post basically the same thing. He just can't help himself and keep his mouth shut on this issue can he?

Mr. Al Fayed, thanks for bringing Fulham to the Premier League, but it's not YOUR team anymore! You don't get a say in how it's run now. And where would you tell someone to get off if somebody told you you weren't spending enough of your money on Fulham when you were owner? I think we know the answer.

I can't formulate a response to this due to uncontrollable laughter. MAF has lost his marbles.

A strange man, we've heard that one before. Sorry Mo, but I think Magath might be on to one of the reasons why.

Exactly what I was thinking, except maybe more along the lines of the Red Sox curse. Will they dare to find out? I don't think so

We were bad with the statue. The fact that we were worse without it isn't indicative of a curse. It just means we continued on our downward trajectory. Sheesh!

don't know how much he says is in regards to his contract is true, because I don't know why Fulham would just release him. I'm sure they could have gotten something out Hangeland, a year in the Championship may have been beneficial to both parties. Well, on second thought, he was sub par the past year and half or so.

But this does play into Mo's post and Aggies' thoughts on how far Fulham have gotten off track in the past few years. I think it would be unfair to lay the blame on Felix and Khan. It's been going on for the past few years. A seller looking to sell and, well, one common actor who is still employed at FFC.

Remember Dempsey saying that the "whole story" would come out about the Liverpool transfer/Jol's story that he had gone on strike to force a transfer to Spurs thing? What that means is that when Dempsey's career is over and he's no longer plying his trade as a professional athlete, THEN we'll see and hear his analysis of his time at Fulham -- including his tortured exit.

This is what REAL professionals do. You don't publicly trash your former employer unless you're an asshole. I loved everything Hangeland did for us until his last 18 months, and even last season's soulless play couldn't stop me from viewing him with respect. THIS, however, is enough. I don't care where he goes next or how well he plays. He's a self-serving jerk and I'm glad he's no longer wearing our colors.

    A huge :text-+1:

I will give him some credence to what he's saying about the decline about what Fulham were a few years ago, because it's similar to what Simon Davies was tweeting several months ago.

I agree that you can't put all the blame on Felix and Khan, but the astonishing thing was as things started to go off track, the attempts at corrections just made things worse. That had to frustrating to Hangeland. Something, some aspect should have improved, but the bad decisions went from bad to worse with Khan imo. It was a nightmare. I too am a bit skeptical of Hangeland's version being the whole truth. However, if he had raised concerns regarding the clubs direction numerous times at some point they may have viewed him as a complainer who didn't support the management and needed to be shown the door. I would have thought they would have wanted some money for him, especially after all the money that had been wasted the past seasons, but who knows.

I understand why people would not approve of this interview by Hangeland but personally I have no problem with it. Maybe his putting it out there is what it will take for the club to take a U turn for the better. I probably would have done the same thing. So Don I guess I am an A**hole; I hope we can still be friends though. :banana-guitar:

I remember back when I first started watching and supporting with no real knowledge of how the Premier League worked. The first difficult pill to swallow was the realization that my team not only would never win a league title but at some point it would get relegated. We all love Roy, but even a team that had all its oars rowing in the same direction like he had molded needed a miracle to survive. I didn't bother to read Brede's comments, I wish him well but it's long past time to turn the page.
