Although they've been on the skids (by their standards) recently, does anybody in their right mind believe we have a chance? Even though they lost at home to Stoke, VanPersie, Rooney and Mata started up front. How are we going to stop them? Answer....we're not. I'm hoping for 0-2, but praying at the same time.

Will Fulham be the tonic to temporarily cure the Hughes hiccups? I think so.

    I have decided two things:

    1. I can't bear to watch even a single minute of Fulham football for the rest of this season. I want my season to end NOW.

    2. I fully realize that since I may not have a chance to see Fulham next season more than twice -- if at all -- I'm not missing a single moment of the rest of this season.

Unless I can divorce my agony from my watching, it's going to be miserable between now and late April.

    Oh, I'm thinking 5-0

Nailed what I was thinking as well. I'm really hoping the new signings give us something to get excited about, but we may have to wait until WBA on the 22nd for that given the fixture list. Utd have a shaky midfield that we should be able to exploit, but with our sideways and slow passing game, I imagine Rooney will just drop deeper and take it off of us. Since we don't press, we'll probably make them look like world beaters. I'll go with a standing prediction of a loss from here on out until the team show they're capable of otherwise.

Just a heads up that the game is on USA due to the Olympics being on NBCSN this weekend.

Yes, Saturday and Sunday matches are on USA and NBC because NBCSN is busy with the Olympics. Things are back to normal for Tuesday and Wednesday's matches.

The more I've thought about that disaster on Tuesday, the more I wonder if we didn't bother preparing for it. Perhaps the total focus of the staff has been spent on preparing the first 11 for Manu all week. From the thrown together collection of players, the lack of any clear tactics or strategy and the complete absence of any cohesion, the whole thing looks like we just sent 11 guys out there and said, "here's the formation, have a go." Even the players attitude was lackluster and devolved to utter garbage as the weather worsened and the match wore on. And then you have Rene and Wilkins caught laughing around on the sidelines late in extra time.

If so, maybe there's some hope that we'll see a 180 from Tuesday's proceedings. Maybe it'll be enough to matter. Or maybe I need to inspect my hat for tinfoil.

I know one thing....if we somehow pull off a miracle at Old Trafford, Moyes should be sacked in the tunnel.

It's not the possible 180 I'm thinking about. It's the 120 -- specifically the minutes that Hangeland played. Since our backup CBs now play for Valencia and QPR, and since the horrid Love Bite also played 120, we're going to be fielding a very weak CB pairing against United and, should Burn/Hangeland actually manage to go 90 on Sunday, then our Norwegian giant will surely be knackered for the visit of Sturridge and Suarez.
