    Well, this is another bit of good news. I've liked him with Everton, and I hope he has the fuel in the tank for a relegation fight. Probably does, though.

    I think he's this transfer period's Rodallega. People all across Fulham Universe are thrilled because he played in a WC final etc. What they don't seem to understand is that Everton is fighting for a European place and they were still more than willing to let him go for nothing. If you want a similarity, we are in the middle of a relegation fight, and we let Hughes go for nothing. Essentially, that's the same thing.

    Now if Heitinga is an effective backup for B&B and keeps Amorebieta off the pitch, it'll be a decent transfer, but I don't see him as a key ingredient to our Premier League survival.

    I've long thought Heitinga was little more than a more expensive Chris Baird. Except he's not as versatile. I think his best position is defensive holding mid, setup in front of the back four. I don't think he's particularly strong at cb and should only be an emergency option there. Useful squad player signing, but I agree with Don, I don't think he'll be a key factor.
