Just thought I'd let you guys know as I suspect it might not have been shown on the TV feed. I was at the match today, we had at leats 1400 fans there that made a lot of noise all through the game and when the team was announced Clint's name got easily the biggest cheer by a long way, when he came out to warm up in front of us the ol' dempsey song was sounded out "he scores with his left, he scores with his right etc' He gave a wave and a clap to the Fans.
At the end all the players came over to the Fulham fans, another chorus of He score etc ' was loudly sounded out and he waved gave the thumbs up and was last to leave and walk off. So all's forgiven , looks like he will get a standing ovation when he comes out to play at the cottage
His performance was OK looked comfortable and fit, wriggled away from his marker with the ball as of old. I wasn't sure about this loan but it bodes well on first sight.

Thanks Masterhaynes, glad Clint got the reception he did. Also glad the traveling supporters were in full voice and didn't walk away empty handed :handgestures-salute: How did the youngsters look?

Going back to Duece, posting for no other reason than I can never watch it enough:

Yeah, I even dusted off the old jersey and wore it while trying to listen to GJ. I can't even imagine how excited he'd have gotten if Clint scored a late winner.

Now, why do I have this odd desire to redecorate my kitchen?

My thoughts onthe youngsters performance,as you know I'm a real believer in our current group of youngsters)So may have rose tinted spectacles),yesterday was gratifying confirmation. Burn and David were probably two of our best players on the pitch at the end of 90 minutes. Freddy Plumain played 45 minutes and was a breath of fresh air, pace to burn, a Fulham winger who really attacked the byline and got in a cross, also Physically strong, I think Kaca will have to be at his best next season to keep him at bay. Lasse Christensen only had 15 minutes but did not look out of place, When I've seen him play for U18 & U21 I liken him to a Rolls Royce, he plays with Strength, smoothness, simplicity never flustered or panicked and showed the same qualities yesterday. Shame we couldn't have had 4 substitutes and swapped Bent for Dembele for the last 15 but we have the replay.

All the youngsters looked assured on the ball and did not hide. It was noticeable that there was no biting of nails in the last 10 minutes either, was it the younger players confidence influencing the old guard? Well worth the 300 mile round trip up to Norwich. The average age of the the 11 players that finished the game yesterday was under 26 with 5 U21's. I'm hoping for the replay Rene might consider adding Josh Passeley at Right back and possible Tom Richards or Sean Kavenagh at Left back to give us some pace up and down the flanks as Zverotovic was regularly caught out leaving gaps for them to exploit.

It should tell Rene, Wilkins & Curbishley that there is no point bringing stop gap players that could knock back the aspirations of the young players and not offer the same commitment to the cause. Patrick Roberts, who is not a local boy so has no problems moving away is attracting real interest from the top 4 with rumours of a 3m bid before his 17th birthday when he can sign his first contract. If we are to persuade him to sign a 3 year contract as young Dembele did earlier this season, playing the youngsters yesterday will help convince him his future is best served staying at Fulham. There are many players in the current crop that could offer valuable contributions between now and the end of the season. I would much rather they focus on and put their money into a real Marquee player they really want to attract, if they don't succeed in bringing them in don't resort to stop gaps, QPR has shown us what the effect they can have.

thanks MasterHaynes for the report on both Dempsey's reception and the youngsters debut. both are wonderful to hear

As much as I agree with this, this is the problem with a relegation battle. In the chatroom during the game, a few of us were agreeing that we didnt even want players from the top tier of the Spanish or French(?) leagues brought in to help because they werent proven in the premier league and would likely need time to adjust. Given our current situation, I have to say that I would prefer players that have proven themselves in the premier league and for us that likely means stop gap players.
