Found this web site again after being gone for a long time, think I was one of the first to be on here a few years ago, went by atlantajohn then.
Went to Craven Cottage for the first time when I was 5, was born not 400 yards from QPR's ground but my Mums family were Fulham through and through, they got bombed out from Elmdale street in WW2, but being that close to the ground were always Fulham fans, and it was only natural that Fulham would be my team.
So my first game was in 1953, when the ground looked a lot different to what it does now, was a regular in the 60's and never missed a home game and went to most of the away games, got married in 74 and moved to the US in 83, so only get to go when i visit the UK, but am Fulham through and through, my wife can tell their results by just looking at my face. Being a Fulham fan is much like being a Cubbies fan in Chicago which is where my wife is from, you know they probably wont win anything but once their in your blood no matter where you roam, their in your heart.

Welcome back John. I grew up in Illinois but never caught on to the Cubs. My five older brothers insured I was a Dodger fan. The Cubs to FFC comparison is a good one in terms of MLB teams though.

Welcome back John!! Great you stayed w/your family roots and didn't stray to being a QPR supporter. Very good analogy concerning the Cubs, Wrigley Field (been many times) and Craven Cottage (from what I hear) are very similar in being unique/special places to take in a sporting event. Always love reading insights of a life long Fulham fan so hope you share your unique perspective w/the rest of us.
