Let's talk about something important. I've been on the road a lot lately. Just wondering what everyone chooses to fuel up on when on a long road trip. I've found that for me it's beef jerky and/or corn nuts. Strange. I never eat those food at any other time.

On long road trips, I usually opt for trail mix and/or bagels.

I used to do those huge pretzel sticks. And sometimes dry hot sausages.. like jerky.

Do the 3 1/2 hour trek thru mostly desolation to Vegas 4 or 5 times a year and like you Mo, it's the only time I ever eat jerky. Not much of a chip person, but my wife and I do like Munchos on the road. Besides water, if I need a pick-me-up I will occasionally have a 6oz. can of the Starbucks Doubleshot Expresso Light, can't stand energy drinks and this is like having a coffee w/out the heart palpitations and having to hit the rest stop.

 What's worse? Knowing there are plenty of long haul truckers on this diet or twenty-something year old kids on a road trip w/ :banana-stoner: , Big Gulps, and twinkles?

But you cant get good bagels at a gas station. Doh, And that made me realize why I get corn nuts and beef jerky on the road but not any other time - freshness less of a concern with hard & crunchy or dried food.
