You never know about these kind of reports, but if true that the management is just beginning to explore potential replacements then we're in bigger trouble than first thought. This team is going to magically play better in two weeks?? Not a snowballs chance in hell, and when a team knows the manager is as good as gone there is a malaise that sets in, and it's pure stupidity there hasn't been a change.

As for a replacement, a trained chicken that pecks a yes or no might be a better option than who is in charge. One thing the pisses me off is this whole 'would he want to come to a small club like Fulham sentiment'. Last I looked there are only 20 Premiership jobs, all get paid rather well, to think we couldn't attract a top notch manager is nonsense.

The malaise has already set in, based on our last 4 matches. And it's only a Premier League job if you feel strongly that you can keep them up. Crystal Palace is only a Prem job for 27 more matches, for example.

Let's say we wait 4 matches to dispatch Jol and we lose all 4 of those matches. The 5 teams above us are only averaging a point/match. Is 23 matches enough to dig out of a 4-6 point hole? Sure.

As fans, it sucks. Tensions are high, patience is low, faith in the club is wavering and the football is :puke-front: . But part of being a Fulham fan, unfortunately, is seeing what needs to happen well in advance of the club doing what needs to be done. We are rarely surprised by proactive moves. Hopefully one day that will change, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I assume this might be the set-up so Jol is not paid some sort of severance package?

I guess the decision makers think this move will appease the supporters... :laughing-rolling:

I don't understand. Are we too cheap to buy out the rest of his contract?

Do others have the unsettling feeling that this won't end well? Two Dutch coaches might be more likely to succeed in the Dutch league, doncha think?

Renee was Sir Alex's right hand man, correct? He obviously knows what good futbol is. Hopefully he can be a fresh set of eyes on team selection and tactics. And light a fire in as many of the boys as possible, who haven't already checked out...

Yes, he's had a lot of success as Sir Alex's right hand man, but has he had success elsewhere? So far it doesn't look like it with time in Russia (although I don't think it's fair to judge on that stint) or Denmark. Time will tell tough, and I hope this maneuver is enough to keep Fulham safe. And we're now being linked with 5 Man U players because of this move. We just have to wait and see if he can fix the way the team is playing.

That's just it. How much of the culture can you change when all of the other elements of that culture are still in place?

I know I came across another story with a perhaps a few other Macnhester players (maybe youth players?), not sure where. Perhaps I was imagining things? :confusion-helpsos: or maybe it was just Zaha and Anderson?

There is no truth to the rumor that Fulham lost to the International Break 0-5

I won't comment other than to say it's a wait and see situation for me.

I can see how this rumor spread. The result is not unlikely this season.

The deed is done but I will save my celebrating until I start seeing better effort on the pitch.
