Hopefully it works out as well as this bullfight:

This move has got to be some sort of Hail Mary, but I'm not sure if Ali Mac and the board are doing it to get the fans off their backs for a bit or if they actually believe two Dutchmen can clean up the managerial mess that one of them created.

Do I think it will work? Doubtful. Would I have been more pleased if D #2 had replaced D #1? Absolutely. Yet just as Berbatov is now struggling without a ManU cast of players to get the ball from, I wouldn't be surprised if RM discovers getting performances out of our lot is a lot more difficult than getting them from ManU. Dad's Army may not respond the way the Red Devils did.

So because Jol cant do his job, we hired someone to help him do his job? Makes perfect sense. :angry-banghead: I havent been able to see many matches so far this season, but soon my schedule will start allowing it. However, this seems so insane I might just take a sabbatical until we are in the Championship. I'll see you all in the chatroom next season. It'll be just like the old days with internet streams and GJ

So his only success came as an assistant to a man considered one of the greatest managers ever, for one of the richest clubs in the world. And within that subset, his notable successes were helping to tweak aspects of the performances of some of the greatest players in the world. With younger or more average players, the kind he'll find (at best) at Fulham, he wasn't so successful. He is credited with designing and leading most of the Red Devils practice sessions, but there's no mention of him having any involvement in strategy, tactics & squad selection. You have to throw out his time at Anzhi which means, outside of United, Brondby is the only other standard with which to judge him. That stint was characterized with odd & embarrassing stories and a decline in performance that lasted only 6 mos before he departed.

The more I read on RM, the more I think the gravitas extended to him is based on the Manchester United name more than anything he brings to the table for Fulham. We can only wait and see at this point. I'll give it several matches before bailing.
