We didn't lose...but it sure feels like a loss. It ended 2-2, giving up a last second goal in last 30 seconds of the game. And, of course, Wisla beat a weakened Twente team, so we get knocked out. I blame the entire team. From AJ watching from tbe stands for the stupid second yellow to get ejected from the previous match and this one. To Orlanda Sa not even getting a shot off at the end of break. And for everyone else on the field thinking the game was won and could coast through to the next round.and Jol for not making the changes to the midfield that kept giving the ball away.

    WORST. DRAW. EVER.

I truly could not believe it when I finally got my Blackberry to work. Naw, it just could NOT be! Luckily for me, there was plenty of alcohol at the office party (ok, so I got in late and had only 15 minutes there) and at a store cocktail party (ok, so I bought a couple pairs of slacks I may not really need).

    Ugh.

    Ugh, ugh, ugh.

Failing to play strong the full 90 on a regular basis (or 93, in this case) is on the manager. I've watched the same thing with my college football team this year. You watch it and think, surely not again...and then it happens again. There's something in the preparation/conditioning/strategy/motivation that is amiss. Jol needs to sort it quickly. Personally, I'd sack him now. MAF won't do it though.

The other issue I saw today is one that I've harped on recently. When we attack, positive things happen. We took it to them in the first half and won it 2-0. When we sit back, we fall into this malaise and then start making stupid mistakes. And we usually get beat when that happens. We did f all in the 2nd half today and lost that one 2-0. Net result was a draw, but given the must win situation we were faced with today, calling it anything but a loss is off target.

On the plus side, at least we get to give more of our starters a rest and can focus on the league. We're going nowhere in the FA Cup, I guarantee it. In fact, it won't surprise me in the least if Charlton take us down. They sit atop the table in League 1 right now with 47 pts from 20 matches and a gd of +28. So they're playing effective football at the moment.

I hate to say it, but after a match like that, I see things getting a lot worse before they get better. I hope I'm wrong.

Recorded it and went on media blackout all afternoon, so I could watch it when I got home. Now I wish my DVR had failed. Ugh.

This result still burns me today - yes, crashing out may help other campaigns but there is absolutely no acceptable reason Fulham shouldn't have gotten out of the group.

Things are amiss at Fulham now, but less amiss than a couple of years ago and I hope it stays that way.
