MJ sounds miffed that Brede played 2 meaningless games for a Norway side already out of WC contention.

Heading to Vegas mañana, so will be curious what the sportsbook says, but my guess is Southampton will be favored by 1.5 goals. The Saints have been terrific this year, and this could be a long day for a makeshift back 4. WIll need Steck to make a few great saves, and the Whites to capitalize on the few chances they create. Never like predicting a loss and a draw would not be a major shock (especially with the huge traveling support that always goes there), but like the home side to win 2-1.

2 great events going on in Vegas this weekend, Jimmy Buffett at the MGM and NHRA Drag Racing is up at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Hit either or both if you can.

There's supposed to be a big storm coming to hit the South of England. I wonder what impact that'll have on the match.

I hope to be in the chatroom for the doings today. COYW

Eh, not sure what else was expected. We're not a good team; Southampton is a very, very good team (don't let the lack of cachet fool you).

They've conceded 3 goals all season. Only 1 since the end of August. And it was las week. To Manchester United.

Let that sink in before flipping out.

Oh well, it sure would be nice to support a team that went for it, like the Saints... if I hear one more announcer talk about Berbas languid style in a positive manner, I going to throw up...Sorry, folks but I still miss CD on this team..Shoot me

Agreed, they've been in a great run of form since the starter's gun. And, they have built a nice squad there. Still, that was piss poor by Fulham today. Outclassed by a 2nd year Premier League team. At least it was away. So we got that goin' for us, which is nice.

Berba raised his arms in some kind of demonstration more than he shot on goal...by far. I don't know what's going on w/in the squad on the pitch, but it riles me.

Dude, I miss Clint too, but I really, really miss Moussa. I know it's more than a year, but I'll never speak of it again.

You'd think they'd conceded one shot since August, not just one goal, after watching us flail about helplessly.

Jol's answer. We couldn't get the ball to our forwards because they pressured us. Yes, it really is that simple to beat us. If you go back and look at most any match last season or this one, that's the gauge. If you pressure us in midfield, we'll generate a very low shot output and most likely lose. If you don't, we'll pick you apart and win. The problem is, most teams press our midfield. Of course the greater problem is our inability to address this glaring weakness.

On Saturday, we punched more opponents in the buttocks than we put shots on target. Pretty much sums it up.

Haven't seen much of it except their two goals, so I can't comment much about the result. But it sounds like we've reverted to our previous poor form which is...well, I'm not sure what it is. Except that it's bad. And boring. And losing. And all three are bad news.
It's time to do some serious soul searching in the front office and in the new owner's head. There can only be one conclusion. This is not salvageable under the current manager. Delaying a change is delaying the inevitable and risking our future in the top flight, if it's not already doomed. Sack the Dutchman now and get on with it.

Our lengthy run of poor form - briefly interrupted last Monday at Selhurst Park - reflects the discovery by other teams of how to neutralize our attacking players. If you know how to do it, and you have the personnel capable of doing it, you get to play a Fulham team that will create virtually no offense and that has lost much of its defensive capacity for one reason or another. Since FFC lack the personnel or the organization to neutralize other team's attacking players, we are likely to lose most matches - save for the against-run-of-play defeats of Sunderland and Stoke.

Didn't Sunderland look better organized and more energetic yesterday under Poyet? Do folks think we could beat this Sunderland away? Sadly, we're stuck not only with Jol but also with the players he's brought in, mostly well past their sell-by dates and happily dispatched by their former employers. Today's FFC is not Premier League quality and sure to struggle to finish 17th or better. The sooner Jol goes and a new manager brings a different approach - with different team selection - the better our chances for survival. But it's hard to see anyone wearing white now who could match Capt. Danny's winning goal at Pompey, or even get us to the point where 3 points on the last day of the season would matter.

Thanks for the suggestions Jim, saw Buffett many moons ago and he puts on a great show. If we drive out to Vegas during football season during the day I tend to stay near the sports book. Did see quite a few NHRA hats/t-shirts so it must of been well attended.

The Fulham match was on at the book I was at (Southampton was a 1.5 goal favorite, at least I stayed away from betting it), and left after the second goal. As said by everyone else, very impressed by the Saints. They are super athletic which is a factor we've for the most part ignored when acquiring players. 2 players that really need to get some playing time that can help in this area are Kaca (out of favor) and Dejagah (not exactly sure of his health status).
