 Saw that I posted this twice, then when I tried to delete the duplicate thread, they both disappeared. Anyway, this is for Lax and Tim (Jack on the CA FB page might make the trip) and any other So Cal lurker, since sfm is staying in Santa Monica and was willing to attempt the less than convenient public transit system from SM to Studio City to get to the Fox & Hounds, I propose we watch the match at King's Head in SM
http://www.yeoldekingshead.com/ They will be open early (4:45 am) for the ManUre game, so showing up any time before 7 would work. The good news is that the game will be over by 9 and won't interfere with your Iowa-Iowa State plans Lax, or your Northwestern game Tim. I have to be at my brother in-law's for a UCLA -Nebraska bbq at noon, so if this happens, I have to take off when the match is over. The bad news is that I've never been to the King's Head (Tim, didn't you and RDG watch a match there?) so I have no idea how good the food, tv situation is, etc.

** Asterisk on the title of the thread is waiting for sfm to respond, defeats the purpose if we go to SM and he finds his way to F&H.

sfm is in town? Well, I'd say that's more than enough reason for us to gather. Yep, been to the King's Head on a few occasions...good memory Joe, met RDG there a few times. Although it has been a while. The pub itself can get crowded, but, in the past, they've allowed overflow into the restaurant area, where there were also TVs. I'm slightly under-the-weather, but hopefully an early night tonight will allow me to rest up and join you guys. I'd say the food is above average for pub grub, and it's two blocks from the ocean, so I won't be complaining.

Until football season is over (I work in FOX's CFB studio all day), I can't make anything like this on a Saturday.

Sweet job Lax, weren't you working at Elias before? Sorry you can't make it, hope we can catch a match later in the season.

My only issue that has come up is my bro in-law screwed up the time of the UCLA-Nebraska game, It's a noon alright...eastern time :angry-banghead: Hard to believe they are having a college game at 11 AM Nebraska time, but it true. He now wants to switch gears and host "Breakfast w/the Bruins", then the A&M-Alabama game. Tim check your pms.

Aside from the result, a pretty darn good time in SM this morning. Thanks Jack, Joe, sfm, and Zach for coming out and for the pints. Jack took a pic which will hopefully eventually find its way here.

Always a pleasure to meet up with friends new and old and take in a match. And I have to say, the late blow was softened a bit by walking out of the dark pub and having this view:

Great to see you as well Tim, it's been way too long. Great to meet Jack and Zach, as well as the one and only sfm and his lovely young wife Christine. Also a big thanks to Jack for the 1975 replica FA Cup Final coaster he gave to each of us, awesome.
