Fulham away to Newcastle

Strange that within the first 3 league matches, that Fulham travels up north, this time to Sunderland arch rival Newcastle. Even though the team has won 2 of their first 3 (including Burton), the sense is that this could be a really tough season. Pardew is probably sitting on a hotter seat than Jol, and 1 goal from either side would probably be worth 3 points.

 

Just a gut feeling, but I think we'll take a point at 1-1. Both sides are a bit of a disjointed mess at the moment which makes them unpredictable. We have had plenty of success up there in recent years. My only hope is that we put up an effort that I can enjoy watching.

 

If you said 4 points from these opening 3 matches, I would take it, so hope your prediction is true. However, we both know that it probably won't be pretty on the eyes.

About time I got your attention. I remembered ol' Sue from her shoplifting escapades...and the universal disdain we all share for her hell spawn. But damn, those pics are gross. I could have gone w/o seeing them...so I guess we're even. Sig removed, don't even think that anyway. Proportionate response isn't always my strong suit.

 

I've been blinded by those photos of Sue. Jeez, if I were in Mr. Terry's shoes, what would I say to Ms. Nevzter in such a situation? "Gee, thanks for at least keeping my mom's dress on...and by the way, why weren't you in the cab with her? Oh, you were taking the photos, I see..."

I almost, just barely almost, expect a point away this weekend, if for no reason, MJSF can achieve that result at St. James Park.

442 - let Bent play with Berba up top, and if you're not starting Bryan, bring him on in the 2nd half. But two strikers, yes, real strikers, may make a difference. But, I guess the ball still has to come out of the midfield...

 

I laughed when I saw the sig, then of course cringed when I found out who she was and her latest public embarrassment, so we are indeed even. Great point Nev, where was the daughter-in-law or the rest of the group that chucked in the back of the cab?

Considering that the match is less than a day away and the biggest topic is John Terry's mum, it seems apathy has crept in. Who knows, maybe the lads will surprise us :whistle:

Abysmal, disgusting...and not even remotely surprising. I'm wondering if Jol isn't just taking the piss and we should be impressed he even turns up for the matches. We look like we have no plan, don't practice and at times don't even care. I've seen greater organization and a clearer plan of attack at pickup hoops games at the park.

If we didn't have a chat room, I'd probably stop watching. Did that towards the end of last year and now I remember why. This is painful.

 

I have nothing to say. watched the entirety, thought about grabbing a waste can numerous times I was getting so sick lol. No organization, no urgency on possible breaks, sick of seeing Berbatov bitch and complain every possession, and sick of seeing Bent stand offside. Jol seemingly went into this match with no drive to score and win, just to walk away with a point, and thus look what happened. I also do not understand the starting 11 Jol chose. Parker's age is showing and he slows the attack down in my opinion. Ruiz looked like a lost puppy. Im finished whining I apologize, just hard to watch and continue my day with yard work lol.

I felt that was a disappointing result. We came here to try to win the match and not to play for a 0-0. That was not what we want. We want to be positive and that was why I brought on Rodallega in the 87th minute to try to get a 1-1. The Boy did ever so well against Burton, scoring with three minutes left but today he did not and that is why we lost. You know, two years ago I had Clint Dempsey. He scored a lot of goals and went to play for Spurs. So, we need to come up with that extra bit of quality in our side.

Dimitar Berbatov is a fantastic player. He was superb again today. Darren Bent is a fantastic player. Scotty Parker is a fantastic player. The fans, they call him “Super Scotty Parker” because he always turns in circles. Adel Taarabt is a fantastic player. They are here because I am here and they all played for Spurs but now they are here. Bryan Ruiz is a fantastic player. I selected him and now he plays for Costa Rica.

I tell him, I tell all my players, he needs to be more often scoring. We do not want to be Blondes in the Bar, we want to be in the Bar scoring. That is what I want.

That Boy Sasha Reither, he had a knock and he could not keep on playing. Ten years ago we had Steve Finnan and Luis Boa Morte to bring on but today I brought on Taarabt in the 80th minute. He was tired from taking the Bus but I thought he did ever so well and that is what he wants, to be more entertaining. When I managed in Germany, there was a saying “did you ever see a horse vomit outside a pharmacy?” So, we need to be more positive than that.

The Boy Stockdale, I think he played ever so well. Last year against Swansea, he was not so good, and I said so to the Media. Fifty years ago, we had Tony Macedo in goal, but now he “Stockers” comes in for The Boy Stekelenberg who is injured and he plays ever so well and that is the reason why. I selected him and he is has a cap for England and too that is the reason why.

Well…

We are not so far from being a good side, an entertaining side. For those fans who woke up at 5:30 in the morning to take the bus to Newcastle, we want to get not two shots on goal, but three or four and that is our style of game to impose. I want more width and that is what we will try to do in the transfer window. Rise is a talented player but we need to give him more a lot more width. He gave their boy Ben Arfa lot of width and that is what I want Rise to do to us. A few new players gives (sp.) us more options to mix and match our lineup and more competition for places.

When I came here we were in Europe and then we finished 9th and 12th and I think for a club this size, that is progress so our focus has to be on 15th and then who knows?

I missed this in favor of watching Katie's team scrimmage. I guess earrly morning practices aren't all bad. I hope the chat room is a happier place next weekend as I will be trekking to Columbus, OH for some U14 matches.
